The NVIDIA DOCA team is seeking a passionate and innovative R&D Engineer to join design the next generation of Data Processing Unit (DPU) software. This role requires strong technical expertise and a creative attitude to influence the design of ground breaking software platforms. You’ll work closely with top engineers to explore new technologies, define system architecture, and drive key design decisions that shape the future of data center infrastructure. At NVIDIA, you’ll join a fast-moving team with global impact — transforming how Smart NICs power the world’s most advanced data centers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and optimize DOCA services that run on ground breaking cloud platforms, enabling high-performance and scalable data processing.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate DOCA Services with advanced networking, security, and compute workloads on world-leading cloud infrastructure.

  • Partner with world-class engineers to shape and build core infrastructure that powers next-generation DPU solutions.

  • Contribute to the evolution of DOCA by exploring new use cases, improving developer experience, and driving innovation across the DPU software stack.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's Degree in EE, CS, or CE, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years in a similar or related role with hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle, specifically for embedded systems, network, or security.

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++- must, Golang, Python, or other scripting languages -advantage.

  • Experience in Linux environment and tools.

  • Diligent and comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements.

  • Ability to work with various teams and have strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and well organized.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Proven track record in developing model-driven device management tools using gNMI, gNOI, YANG, and gRPC.

  • Extensive experience with C-based SDK development.

  • Expertise in the modern software lifecycle, including Meson build system for compilation, Linux packaging (RPM, DEB) for distribution, and Docker for containerization.

  • Expertise in memory forensics, demonstrated through significant software development or research contributions.
