We’re SmartThings, one of the leading IoT ecosystems in the world, creating the most effortless way for anyone to create a smart home. We're a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung with corporate offices in Minneapolis and the Bay Area.
More than 430 million people worldwide use SmartThings to control and manage their connected life. SmartThings delivers simple, powerful experiences across Samsung’s leading portfolio of phones, TVs, and appliances.  We also offer the most versatile smart home experience as an open platform with a rich partner ecosystem (think IKEA, SONOS, Honeywell, and so many more). As a founding member of Matter, we are a leader in the industry to help make smart homes more secure, reliable and seamless to use.  Come be a part of the leading edge of IoT innovation!
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Developer Center team. Device makers around the world integrate their hardware with the SmartThings platform, and the Developer Center is where that journey happens, from first API call through Works with SmartThings certification. It's how developers around the world experience our platform, and our team's mission is to make that journey clear, accurate, and easy to use.

This role owns the documentation developers rely on and helps build the console they use alongside it. You'll write the integration guides and API reference at developer.smartthings.com/docs, own that site's frontend and publishing pipeline, and contribute features and code to the Developer Center itself. You'll collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality developer experience for the global SmartThings platform.

Key Responsibilities
This position is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the following:
  • Own the docs site on the SmartThings Developer Center end to end: Docusaurus theme customization, MDX components, versioning, search configuration, CI/CD, and analytics.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation (API docs, SDK guides, and integration tutorials) for external developers integrating with the SmartThings platform.
  • Establish documentation standards, and maintain quality through linters, AI-powered authoring tools, and participation in code and documentation reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with platform engineers, product managers, and designers to build new features and enhance existing ones for the Developer Center.
  • Use AI tooling to accelerate drafting, research, and content audits, with technical verification before anything ships.
  • Proactively communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders and team.
