Database Architect

We are looking for a Database Architect who has in-depth experience with SQL Server to join our team. Our engineers define the technical direction of the client-facing services including data analysis and visualization, APIs, and supporting services. You will also be responsible for our SQL Server in our various environments and help with its implementation, performance, and maintenance.

Success in this role will be defined by your ability to consistently deliver high-quality Database solutions, optimize SQL Server performance by identifying the DB bottlenecks through monitoring and alerting, and contribute to the overall scalability and reliability of our systems. You will establish yourself as a key team player by collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, designing robust database architectures, and continuously improving query performance and database monitoring processes. Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the performance of the databases for our critical systems
• Ensure security and data integrity of all database environments
• Develop and implement all database indexing, maintenance, and transformations
• Collaborate with application developers to support database-related application development Participate in the refinement and development of user stories, assessing the impact of new development on current database implementation, etc.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for various applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
• Keep SQL servers up to date with necessary patches
• Developing a robust DB monitoring and reporting
• Suggest different caching approaches such as In-Memory or Redis etc opt for the business requirement

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Excellent command of the SQL language with the ability to write and optimize complex queries
• Solid knowledge of relational database architecture and concepts
• Hands-on work experience in database design, architecture, development, and production support for enterprise applications are strongly preferred
• Knowledge and experience in Kibana for application monitoring
• Knowledge of caching strategies and implementations for both distributed (like Redis) and in-memory approaches

Nice to have

• Experience with or willing to learn ClickHouse, Hydrolix DB or other time series databases
• Experience developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services or similar ones
• Startup or small cross-functional group experience
