Software Engineer - Backend .Net

VIDIZMO is an AI software company headquartered in Tysons, Virginia. We build Nexus, AI Intelligence Hub, AI Live Insight and Redactor, a product family that lets an organization search, analyze, redact and act on its unstructured data, where video, audio, images, documents and text are treated as equal first-class sources rather than one format with the rest bolted on. More than 100 customers run VIDIZMO in production across public safety and justice, government, healthcare, financial services, education, legal, manufacturing and energy, and much of that installed base runs on premises, in air-gapped environments, or in FedRAMP High environments through our hosting partners, on a CJIS Security Policy-aligned architecture.

We are an independent software vendor. We build and support the software, and the channel sells it, with qualified partners also installing, delivering and supporting deployments for their own clients. That model shapes almost every role here: the people we hire spend their time making partners and customers successful rather than pushing paper through a direct sales funnel.

AI Output Verification & Accountability (Required Competency)

The candidate must be capable of effectively using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) to support work outputs such as content, analysis, documentation, or code. However, the candidate must also demonstrate strong judgment and ownership of the final deliverables. AI-generated output must never be treated as final without review. The candidate is expected to validate accuracy, completeness, logic, compliance, and alignment with business requirements, and refine AI-assisted work to meet the expected quality standards. The individual will be held accountable for the final output, regardless of whether AI tools were used during execution.

Responsibilities:

• Build server-side web technology stack that provides API for various products and integrations

• Responsibility for reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs
• Ownership of final deliverables, regardless of AI assistance
• Ability to critically evaluate AI results and ensure they meet defined requirements
• Accountability for accuracy, quality, and compliance
  
• Develop and enhance back-end processing pipeline with evolving needs
• Work with Product Analyst, Web Engineers, and other Front and Back end engineers to provide necessary support building new features
• Securing and ensuring the back-end stack is scalable, elastic and can support millions of concurrent users
• Perform unit, integration testing of developed modules and systems as well as participate in weekly bug bash activity
• Perform Peer code reviews to improve code quality
• Follow and enforce SCRUM/Agile practices as well as work with Product Manager, maintaining product and spring backlog
• Propose and participate in the adoption of new technologies and trends

Essential Skills:

• Must have worked with at least one server-side technology for developing web application such as ASP.NET OR C# OR Java Spring/Spring Boot OR NodeJS OR Python
• Have experience developing and designing API and Middle-ware for the web
• Hands on experience working on Visual Studio 2019, SQL Server Management Studio 
• Proficient knowledge and in-depth understanding of underlying frameworks like .NET, Java, etc.
• Have experience and knowledge of designing scalable application
• Skilled in implementing design patterns and logic development
• The ideal candidate demonstrates strong business acumen, translates objectives into impactful solutions, and effectively leverages AI tools for efficiency. Proficiency in Claude (mandatory) and familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT are required. An ownership mindset and the ability to deliver results independently are essential. Successful completion of a Claude-based assessment is required as part of the hiring process.

Preferred Skills:

• Have created an application using ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET 5, libraries in .NET and Windows services
• Have worked on SignalR OR gRPC OR WebSockets
• Have worked with Azure Devops OR AWS OR Google PaaS Services
• Have done system-level programming such as sockets, multi-threading, or designed distributed applications

• Have worked on video streaming technology or encoders/decoders
• Containers, Elastic Search, Dapper, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Zipkin, Consul, Zookeeper, Redis, WSL/2, gRPC protocols, mDNS

Required Qualification:

• BS/BSc or above in Computer Science
• 0 - 5+ years experience in backend development
• Can work independently and have a go-getter attitude
• Good English language verbal and writing communication skills
• Authorized to work legally
