Traditional approaches to this problem have resulted in fragmented tooling and fragile dashboards which, in turn, have resulted in exploding costs and complexity. At Observe, we believe that the core challenge lies in organizing and relating telemetry data emitted by those applications, despite the fact it is constantly changing. Solving this data problem makes observability an order of magnitude easier, faster, and less expensive. At Observe, we didn’t set out to build another monitoring tool company, we set out to build a data company. What you have the opportunity to accomplish:
Design and develop software systems for Observe’s Application Performance Monitoring (APM) SaaS platform for observability and machine data analytics, with a focus on the monitoring backend software product.
Build new features to help customers interact with the monitoring interface, and curate alerts.
Benchmark data pipelines and query plans in Snowflake.
Identify scope of enhancements, and architect appropriate solutions.
You'll be successful in this role if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Background (academic projects or experience) benchmarking outcomes from software system variants.

Salary range: $141,000 to $174,000 per year
The expected pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as equity and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as skillset, experience, and qualifications.

Observe was founded by Sutter Hill Ventures in November 2017. Our founding team came from leading Enterprise SaaS and software companies that work with vast quantities of data such as Snowflake, Splunk and Wavefront.
