Job Description

We are seeking an Software Engineer in Observability Space to join our Intelligent Operations team of Procter & Gamble in Warsaw. The person will work as part of a well-established team that includes software engineers, AI engineers, architects, support officers and a product owner to develop and maintain Procter & Gamble's internal Event Management capability - part of the internal observability platform. Solution will provide critical insights into the performance and health of applications and infrastructure at enterprise scale. Event Management leverages modern AI algorithms to automatically detect, correlate, root-cause and act upon issues detected in observed system. This helps to prevent business disruption with minimized human effort.

The Engineer will be responsible for solution design and implementation of Event Management capabilities as a member of a cross-functional team. Key responsibilities cover:

  • Ensuring that all relevant data is collected in observability layer (in collaboration with the observability teams responsible for data ingestion).

  • Delivering and maintaining scalable data pipelines, efficiently processing and transforming data near real-time, ensuring storage and delivery to AI layer and frontend layer.

  • Ensuring that the right AI Models are applied for the use-case with fast enough delivery of the needed insights to the frontend layer, ticketing layer and/or self-healing layer (in collaboration with AI team responsible for building and tuning AI Algorithms per use-case).

  • Ensuring that the client SRE teams are able to efficiently follow the user journey with good UX - by directly implementing frontend layer or collaborating with the front end engineer.

  • Ensuring that technical onboarding of new use cases, as well as ongoing configuration and finetuning of existing use cases is frictionless and delivered to client teams via easy-to-use self-service layer.

  • Participating in cross-functional teams and initiatives to drive alignment and collaboration across the organizations to adopt our observability platform for various internal clients.

Above jobs to be done are to be executed by the entire agile, product team, where each engineer is enabled to contribute at every level of delivery and tech stack combining: (a) playing on current strengths and leveraging existing experiences to deliver the parts were engineer is most familiar/expert already, (b) growing by contributing to areas of lower expertise with support of other team member familiar with specific technology.

Job Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Solid understanding of Software Development concepts (e.g., OOP, TDD, SOLID, Unit/Integration testing, Encapsulation, Interfaces design, Software integration, Software Development Lifecycle)

  • Ability to develop and maintain efficient, secure, and scalable code including: performance optimization, database integration, concurrency, parallelism and unit testing. Preferred languages: Python, Go.

  • Ability to efficiently collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams including: SREs, AI Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Product Owner.

  • Ability to work as a team member with good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the observability and AI space.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in one of the following fields: statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, information technology.

  • Experience with using version control systems, preferably git.

  • Experience with CI/CD setup.

  • Experience with delivering and administrating solutions with cloud services frameworks, preferably Azure.

  • Experience with Databricks.

  • Experience with building and running efficient ETL pipelines.

  • Experience with SQL and No-SQL (Including Graph databases).

  • Basic knowledge of AI Algorithms.

  • Experience delivering frontend applications with Javascript/Typescript and React framework.
