We are looking for a Software Development Manager to manage and support software development teams within an Agile/Scrum framework. You will be responsible for ensuring that the teams deliver high-quality work and meet performance expectations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring other developers. You will collaborate closely with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure the effective functioning of the teams.
Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the development team.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide feedback to team members.
- Lead performance reviews, set objectives, and create personal development plans.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance skills and career growth.
- Monitor and analyze team performance metrics (e.g., velocity, sprint burndown, and cycle time).
- Prepare regular team performance reports for senior management.
- Participate in the hiring process for development team members.
- Oversee onboarding and integration of new team members into the team and organization.
- Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance team processes and productivity.
- Encourage the use of metrics and feedback to drive team growth and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 or more years experience as a software developer (preferably Java)
- At least 1 year experience leading a team of software developers and/or testers
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Familiarity with modern development frameworks and tools
- Experience with version control systems (preferably Git)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and an analytical mindset
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in the Atlassian ecosystem is a plus
