ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX Corporation is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Client (WebApps/tvApps) for its Digital Product Engineering Quality Engineering team.

As a Senior SDET, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of FOX's client applications across WebApps and Connected TV (tvApps) platforms. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks, defining testing strategies, and driving quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Our WebApps Engineering teams develop high-performance applications that power FOX's streaming and digital experiences on LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, and other Connected TV platforms. Working closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams, you will help deliver highly reliable products that reach millions of users worldwide through comprehensive automation, continuous testing, and quality-first engineering practices.

As a Senior SDET – Client (WebApps/tvApps), you will contribute to automation strategy, build robust test frameworks, improve release confidence, and ensure exceptional customer experiences across multiple client platforms.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for WebApps and Connected TV applications.

  • Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites.

  • Develop automated functional, integration, end-to-end, API, and UI tests across multiple client platforms.

  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide early feedback to improve product quality.

  • Perform white-box, black-box, exploratory, regression, and integration testing.

  • Build and enhance reusable automation libraries and testing utilities.

  • Drive continuous improvements in test automation coverage and execution efficiency.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.

  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work closely with development teams to resolve defects.

  • Perform performance, stability, and reliability testing for client applications.

  • Validate application compatibility across browsers, operating systems, and Connected TV devices.

  • Mentor engineers on automation best practices and quality engineering principles.

  • Support production releases and investigate customer-reported issues when required.

  • Contribute to improving engineering processes, tooling, and overall product quality.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.

  • Strong experience building automation frameworks using Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.

  • Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar programming languages.

  • Experience testing modern Web applications built using frameworks such as React js, 

  • Experience testing client applications across Connected TV platforms includingLG webOS, or Samsung Tizen, Kepler

  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and API automation tools such as Postman or REST Assured.

  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.

  • Experience using Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or Xray.

  • Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience testing OTT, streaming media, or digital entertainment applications.

  • Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, HeadSpin, or cloud-based device farms.

  • Knowledge of video playback technologies including HLS, DRM, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
