Software Development Analyst / Principal Software Development Analyst - Level 2 or Level 3 (Remote)
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Development Analyst (Level 2) or Principal Software Development Analyst (Level 3). This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems sector in San Diego, CA or El Segundo, CA with opportunity for remote/hybrid work arrangements from any location.
The qualified candidate will become part of the AS Sector Business Management Technology Organization.
This candidate will participate in the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of applications and utilities in support of the Pricing and Estimating functional teams, as well as the Business Management Contract Execution environment. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following job responsibilities:
- Engage with internal customers to understand and define application/utility needs and requirements
- Participate constructively in a collaborative work environment with other development team members
- Support the design, build, test, analysis and documentation of new and existing sector-wide applications and utilities
This position may be filled as either the level 2 or the level 3 depending on qualifications below:
Basic Qualifications [Software Development Analyst Level 2]
- Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Software Development, Information Systems, or comparable/equivalent
- Intermediate understanding and frequent use/application of software development concepts, principles, techniques, and theories (algorithm development, data structures, Object Oriented Programming)
- Moderate experience with relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Moderate experience with C#, HTML, CSS, JS, .NET, (Web App Development)
- Experience with Agile development cycle/concepts
- Ability to perform scope of work with general supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on project teams
- Self-motivated, organized, possess strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of management/leadership levels

- Master’s degree with 3 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Software Development, Information Systems, or comparable/equivalent
- Advanced understanding and wide application of software development concepts, principles, techniques, and theories (algorithm development, data structures, Object Oriented Programming)
- Significant experience with relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Significant experience with C#, HTML, CSS, JS, .NET, (Web App Development)
- Experience with Agile development cycle/concepts
- Ability to perform scope of work independently with limited supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on project teams
- Self-motivated, organized, possess strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of management/leadership levels
Preferred Qualifications [Level 2/Level3]
- Active DoD Secret or DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Visual Studio
- Experience with Agile development cycle/concepts
- Experience with Azure DevOps (Git repositories, CI/CD Pipelines)
- Experience developing and sustaining RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, regression, and end-to-end) using Playwright.
- Experience with Entity Framework (EF6 and/or Entity Framework Core)
- Experience with DevExpress controls
