Leidos is seeking a Software Developer with strong problem solving and analytical skills who is detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and reliability. We are looking for a developer with hands on experience in ETL/ELT development, data integration, and pipeline orchestration. The selected will have proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, a strong understanding of data transformation, cleansing, validation, and migration processes and experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple source systems.
The customer applies technical resources to accelerate the timely, reliable, and secure delivery of open source data, information, and insights. They require support to maintain and enhance an existing big data exploitation platform. The Software Developer will work within an agile team environment. Work will include creating Amazon Web Services (AWS)-based resources; writing, testing, and debugging custom application code; administering database services; and performing data cleaning, formatting, and other forms of data management. The selected developer’s responsibilities include:
Designing, developing, and optimizing ETL pipelines and data workflows
Integrating data from multiple internal and external systems
Ensuring data quality, reliability, and consistency across pipelines
Troubleshooting and resolve performance and data integrity issues
Collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams to support data needs
Documenting pipeline architecture, processes, and operational procedures
The ideal candidate will meet all of the listed skills/experiences but that as this person will work within a team, the client has the ability to approve candidates who meet most of the listed skills/experiences:
Early/mid-level (5+ ish years usual benchmark) hands-on experience in ETL/ELT development, data integration, and pipeline orchestration
Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines
Strong understanding of data transformation, cleansing, validation, and migration processes
Experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple source systems
As well as the Basic Qualifications:
Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly to be considered
Must have a Bachelor's and at least 12 years of relatable work experience OR a Masters and at least 10 years of relatable work experience OR 16+ years of relatable work experience in lieu of degree.
Strong expertise in ETL tools, frameworks, and best practices
Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Python for backend and data pipeline development
Experience developing and maintaining API integrations, batch jobs, and automated workflows
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization
Experience with cloud-based or on-prem data environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Elasticsearch, including indexing, querying, and optimizing search/data
Experience with Apache NiFi for data flow automation and orchestration
Familiarity with streaming and event-driven architectures
Experience with NoSQL databases, message queues, or distributed systems
Exposure to data warehousing and analytics platforms
