About The Position
Ready to build the technology behind live sports broadcasts seen across the globe?
At Pixellot, we're transforming the way sports events are captured, produced, and shared. Our automated solutions power professional and amateur sports organizations worldwide - from the camera on the field all the way to the broadcast.
We're looking for a hands-on Software Developer to join our R&D team, working on the full pipeline - cameras, video processing, automated production, graphics, and backend infrastructure. If you love low-level systems, real-time challenges, and seeing your code live in actual sports arenas, this is the role for you.
As part of your role, you will:
- Develop and maintain high-performance C++ systems across the video pipeline
- Work on real-time video processing, ingest/transcode pipelines, and streaming infrastructure
- Collaborate with the team on backend services written in Python and Go
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in multithreaded, low-latency systems
- Work closely with Product, QA, and DevOps to ship reliable, scalable features
- Leverage AI tools (primarily Claude) as part of your daily development workflow
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent or relevant military tech unit experience.
- 4–5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong C++ background (C++11 and above).
- Experience in low-level, system-level development on Linux.
- Familiarity with multithreading, concurrency, and memory management.
- Background that spans both hardware and software domains (e.g., embedded, IoT, military tech units).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with video streaming, real-time video processing, or multimedia frameworks (e.g., FFmpeg, CUDA)
- Familiarity with streaming protocols (UDP, TCP, RTMP, HLS) or transport-layer development
- Experience with Go or Python
- Background in IoT or embedded systems
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in your workflow
- Be part of a fast-paced, innovative R&D environment
- Tackle real-time, high-performance technical challenges
- Help shape the architecture behind the next generation of sports content technology
- Collaborate with top engineers, product managers, and AI specialists
- See your work deployed in real-world live sports scenarios across the globe

What We Do
Today, millions of sporting events take place annually; however, 99% are not broadcast. These events range from local youth and women’s sports to lower leagues in popular sports and even professional leagues in niche sports. Pixellot’s automated sports production solutions revolutionize traditional video capture, production and distribution processes, enabling professional and amateur sports organizations to affordably cover and monetize their events. Pixellot’s technology streamlines the production workflow by deploying an unmanned multi-camera system in a single fixed rig (with additional angles as required), covering the entire field and delivering a stitched panoramic image. Advanced auto-production mechanisms track the flow of play, identify highlights, create replays and insert advertisements without human intervention. Pixellot's analytics and video editing platform Vidswap allows coaches to save time by breaking down games and get detailed game, team and players stats 4 hours after the game is over. Over 25,000 Pixellot systems have been sold to production companies, sports portals, sports federations, leagues, clubs, venues, and coaching solution providers around the world, including the US, China, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, UK, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, and other markets
