Senior Software Engineer, Agentic Team

Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone.

The team is at the center of Aiven's move into agentic AI. We build the platform and tooling that let AI agents and developers work with data on Aiven, from the agent runtimes and the interfaces that connect large language models to real systems, to the product experiences on top of them. Our work ships fast, reaches customers and AI agents directly, and defines how Aiven's data platform is used in an AI-first world.

We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer to help design and build these AI and agentic products end to end. You'll be part of a small, senior team that owns its work from idea to production. Our backend services are written in Python and TypeScript, our agents run on frontier LLMs, and our frontend uses React and TypeScript, all on top of Aiven's own data platform.

• Writing high quality, maintainable code and releasing quality features
• Contributing to technical planning and backlog management
• Helping investigate and resolve customer issues
• Mentor and empower other engineers around you

Must-have:

• Excellent development skills in Python, TypeScript, and React 
• Excellent understanding of Agentic AI systems
• Ability to independently solve challenges, break tasks and push to desired outcome
• Ability to write good automated tests
• Experience using Linux in development
• Fluency in English, verbal and written
• Deep, daily use of AI agents in your own development workflow: you go beyond Cursor or Claude Code as autocomplete, and build your own MCP servers, skills, custom tools and automated agent workflows to multiply your output.
