About this opportunity:
Our Product Enigneering Unit CCI (RAN Compute & Cloud Infrastructure) is one of the main R&D units within Ericsson's Radio Access Network domain. The unit is accountable for Ericsson products, including Baseband, Street Macro and Site solutions, both for SW and HW, over the full lifecycle. CCI is a competence center for common design functions (e.g. digital ASIC and FPGA, PCB layout, power, mechanics, thermal, interconnect, synchronization, security) and tools. At R&D Center Poland we develop SW system and design solutions for baseband, interconnect, security and site products. We address telecommunication business needs from around the globe by delivering innovative software (e.g. 5G/6G functionalities) meeting the highest telco quality.
We are looking for a Software Developer to join a troubleshooting-focused product development team. In this role, you will investigate complex system-level issues, identify their underlying causes, and design and implement improvements that enhance product quality, reliability, maintainability, and customer value. You will also have the opportunity to use modern AI-assisted engineering tools to support analysis, debugging, test creation, and documentation. You will work across different product areas, collaborate with experienced engineers, and build broad product knowledge that can develop into deep technical expertise.
What you will do:
• Investigate complex technical issues identified in customer deployments, internal testing, and product verification• Drive root-cause analysis and connect observed symptoms with their underlying technical causes• Design, implement, and verify software improvements that prevent issues from recurring• Improve product reliability, maintainability, stability, and observability• Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools to support debugging, code analysis, test creation, and documentation• Explore opportunities to automate repetitive investigation steps and improve troubleshooting efficiency• Contribute to software development, debugging, testing, and verification activities• Collaborate across teams and technical domains to resolve cross-area product issues• Participate in architecture and design discussions, using insights from real product behavior• Strengthen automated testing and verification strategies• Share knowledge, support less experienced engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices• Propose improvements to tools, ways of working, and development efficiency
The skills you bring:
• Solid experience in software development using C++17 or later versions• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in complex software systems• Good understanding of software design principles, clean code, and design patterns• Experience with software testing, test automation, and verification methodologies• Analytical mindset and curiosity to understand how complex systems work• Ability to independently drive technical investigations and propose practical solutions• Openness to using AI-assisted tools to improve software development, troubleshooting, and engineering productivity• Ownership mindset and willingness to take topics from analysis through implementation and verification• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and technical areas• Willingness to share knowledge and support the growth of other engineers• Good communication skills in English (B2+, written and spoken)
