Summary

 

The Software Development Specialist is a senior technical expert with 5+ years of experience and deep expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP) and backend systems architecture. They design, build, and lead the development of scalable and secure applications using technologies like Java, .NET, PHP, Python, relational and non-relational databases, RESTful APIs, and enterprise CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and WordPress. They drive technical solutions, mentor developers, enforce coding standards, optimize performance, and contribute directly to project success. A strong academic background in Software Engineering or a related field is preferred.

 

Role Responsibilities

Overall

• Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of large-scale, enterprise-grade software solutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to refine technical requirements and propose solutions.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including system designs, APIs, and deployment diagrams.
• Act as a technical lead for development teams, providing guidance, code reviews, and mentoring.

 

Application Design

• Architect systems that are scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable.
• Validate and communicate designs to clients, architects, and delivery teams.
• Supervise and review the work of other designers and developers for compliance with best practices.

 

Development

• Implement core application components, reusable libraries, and frameworks following clean coding standards.
• Lead the integration of APIs, cloud services, databases, and external systems.
• Enforce security best practices and proactively address security risks during development.
• Conduct peer code reviews, ensuring high standards of quality and security across the codebase.

 

Testing

• Lead the creation of testing strategies including unit, integration, performance, and security testing.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to improve automated testing coverage and release processes.

 

Implementation and Maintenance

• Oversee release and deployment processes, ensuring successful rollout to production environments.
• Continuously monitor application health, proactively addressing performance and security issues.
• Drive post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Process Execution and Improvement

• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Estimate effort and resources needed for technical deliverables.
• Propose and implement process optimizations, technical debt reduction, and innovation initiatives.
• Stay updated on new technologies and bring recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with increasing technical leadership responsibilities.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java, .NET (C#), PHP, Python, or Node.js.
• Deep understanding of MVC frameworks (Spring MVC, ASP.NET MVC, Laravel, Django).
• Advanced experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with SOAP services.
• Strong experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) databases.
• Demonstrated experience scaling applications for high concurrency, security, and availability.
• Practical experience designing cloud-native solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in CI/CD, DevOps workflows, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes basics), and automation.
• Strong expertise with source control (Git) and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Experience coaching and mentoring developers and leading technical teams.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, or OpenAI Codex.
• Hands-on experience designing and integrating GraphQL APIs into production systems.
• Professional-level English communication skills, with a minimum of B2 proficiency (C1 preferred). 

 

Preferred:

• Experience with CMS platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Drupal). 
• Experience working with enterprise or e-commerce platforms such as Salesforce, Magento, or Shopify.
• Experience leading technical workshops or solution architecture reviews with clients.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven system design.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
• Experience with advanced caching strategies (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience working with performance monitoring tools (AppDynamics, NewRelic).
• Familiarity with AI/ML basics applied to software development contexts.
• Certification in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, etc.).
