Job Summary:
The mission of the Software Developer on the UI team is to bring strong expertise primarily in React to design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable web applications. The Software developer will also multi-task technical design, code construction, technical team growth, bug resolution and environment support. The Senior Software Developer demonstrates resourcefulness, takes direction, provides direction, and learns new technologies to support the business. The responsibilities of this position include crafting new and maintaining existing web apps interacting with APIs, working with complex datasets, and demonstrating expertise in a variety of programming languages and application development, in a dynamic team environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with clients and/or internal teams to understand user needs; collaborates on initial proposal and design of software to meet these needs.
- Build dynamic and responsive web applications using React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality code and ensure a seamless user experience across various devices and browsers.
- Collaborates with UX/UI designers, product managers, and other developers to gather requirements and deliver feature enhancements.
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure data-driven UI components function effectively.
- Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning, code reviews, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Modifies existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
- Write unit tests and maintain code quality through continuous integration and best practices.
- Researches, follows, and communicates best practices to team members.
- Gathers and evaluates user feedback and then modifies software for better usability.
- Determines required system performance standards and hardware configurations based on client specifications, budget, security needs, and other parameters.
- Document development processes, architectural decisions, and changes to ensure maintainability and ease of collaboration.
- ·Supervisory Responsibilities, including but not limited to collaboration, mentoring team members, enabling opportunities for individual technical growth, and strengthening the team, among others.
- Able to work 2nd-shift (3PM to 12 midnight), Mondays to Fridays
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required.
- At least five years of experience as a software developer or engineer required.
- At least five years of experience with Next JS, TypeScript and JavaScript, especially web app frameworks React and/or Angular.
- Experience with MUI Grids
- Experience with code branching strategies
- Experience with Azure cloud services and platform is preferred.
- Experience working with SQL and writing queries for relational databases.
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar systems.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of coding languages and systems.
- Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.
- Ability to participate in Agile sprinting and ceremonies
