The Role
Deploys, configures, and maintains enterprise applications on Azure Kubernetes Service and Amazon EKS. Designs Kubernetes cluster architecture, networking, ingress, service meshes, and workloads; implements autoscaling and observability; hardens containers and enforces security controls; and integrates clusters with Azure and AWS services, identity, secrets management, storage, and networking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Deployment & Orchestration: Package, deploy, and maintain complex applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
  • Kubernetes Architecture: Oversee cluster architecture, namespace topology, ingress controllers, service meshes, and stateful/stateless workloads.
  • Autoscaling & Observability: Implement workload autoscaling using custom application and infrastructure metrics.
  • Cluster Security & Hardening: Enforce container security best practices, perform base image hardening, implement network policies, manage RBAC, and integrate continuous security scanning into deployment pipelines.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Integration: Integrate Kubernetes clusters with native Azure and AWS services (e.g., IAM/Entra ID integration, key vaults, storage, secret management, and cloud networking).
Required Qualifications & SkillsCore Experience
  • 8–10 years of overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise production workloads on Kubernetes.
  • Deep operational expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) (Primary) and Amazon EKS (Secondary).
Must-Have Skillset
  • Kubernetes Architecture: Thorough understanding of control plane components, ETCD, Kubelet, CNI plug-ins, CSI drivers, and Kubernetes networking primitives.
  • Helm & Helmfile: Proficient in writing modular Helm charts, managing multi-environment releases via Helmfile, and templating complex application stacks.
  • KEDA Autoscaling: Direct experience configuring KEDA scaled objects, scalers, and custom metrics (Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Kafka, queues, etc.) for event-driven autoscaling.
  • Security & Image Hardening: Deep understanding of container security concepts, including:
    • Container base image hardening and vulnerability scanning.
    • Pod Security Standards (PSS) / Admission Controllers (OPA Gatekeeper, Kyverno).
    • Secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, External Secrets Operator).
    • Least-privilege RBAC and node-level isolation.
  • Cloud Services Knowledge: Strong grasp of core AWS and Azure services (VNet/VPC, Identity/IAM, Load Balancers, Key Vaults/KMS).

Skills Required
