You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

We are seeking a highly experienced Software Automation Test Engineer with a strong background in hardware testing and over 10 years of industry experience. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement automated test solutions for manufacturing hardware products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our products and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in our manufacturing processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software tools for automated hardware testing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Create and implement test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate PCBA, sub-assemblies and full-system hardware.
  • Develop and maintain test systems, including hardware and software integration.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues during manufacturing testing.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to define test requirements and ensure seamless integration.
  • Optimize existing test processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Analyze test data and generate detailed reports to drive improvements in manufacturing quality.
  • Ensure test solutions comply with industry standards and best practices


Skills and Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in hardware testing, including PCBA and full-system validation.
  • Developing automated test software using languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar.
  • Designing and debugging custom test fixtures and hardware interfaces.
  • Using and integrating test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • Database development, including creating, maintaining, and querying databases for test data management.
  • Con Ops (automated firmware and software deployment) to streamline manufacturing test workflows.
  • Working with schematic design tools like Altium or similar for understanding and debugging test boards.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging both hardware and software issues in a manufacturing environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Linux systems and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) for hardware-software integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker for creating and managing containerized environments.
  • Experience in developing automated test systems for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques for test optimization.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC or ISO 9001.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
