Your work will directly influence how financial products integrate, scale, and interoperate within open banking ecosystems, partner networks, and client environments.

You will contribute to and help evolve a comprehensive Patterns & Practices (PnP) repository focused on API design, integration patterns, security models, and reference implementations. Through workshops, codefests, hackathons, and community enablement, you will serve as a Technical Evangelist who drives adoption of best practices across global Architecture & Development teams.

Responsibilities & DeliverablesArchitecture & API Strategy
  • Define and evolve Finastra’s API‑first architecture strategy, including standards for REST, GraphQL, event‑driven APIs, and service‑to‑service communication.

  • Translate emerging technologies and banking requirements into implementable API designs, integration patterns, and platform capabilities.

  • Lead the creation of reference architectures, API blueprints, and proof‑of‑concepts that demonstrate best practices for interface design and interoperability.

Technology Evaluation & Innovation
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies related to API gateways, service meshes, identity and access management, event streaming, and cloud‑native integration.

  • Identify opportunities to reuse, optimize, and enhance Finastra’s API frameworks and integration approaches to reduce cost and improve consistency.

Standards, Governance & Best Practices
  • Develop and maintain API standards, including naming conventions, versioning strategies, security requirements, and lifecycle management.

  • Contribute to enterprise architecture processes that enforce API governance, design quality, and compliance.

  • Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including API guidelines, integration patterns, and platform reference models.

Community Enablement & Evangelism
  • Coach development teams on API design, secure coding, and integration best practices.

  • Promote adoption of PnP artifacts through training, workshops, and collaborative engineering sessions.

  • Work cross‑functionally to standardize implementation patterns across domains and product lines.

Review & Quality Assurance
  • Perform peer reviews of API designs, architecture artifacts, and integration solutions.

  • Ensure alignment with Finastra’s enterprise standards, especially around security, scalability, and interoperability.

  • Support platform‑related architecture activities and provide guidance on emerging technologies and PnP assets.

Risk Management
  • Identify architectural risks related to API design, integration, and platform dependencies.

  • Recommend mitigation strategies that improve resilience, security, and long‑term maintainability.

Required Experience
  • 10 years of progressive experience in IT or consulting, including 5+ years in a senior architecture or API leadership role.

  • 5 years designing and delivering large‑scale enterprise solutions using modern web, cloud, and integration technologies.
