About The Position

The Social Operations Manager is an advanced individual contributor responsible for building and maintaining the systems, infrastructure, and processes that drive social media performance. Operating with little instruction on day-to-day work, this role uses professional concepts to advance functional projects and resolve complex strategic issues in creative and scalable ways. The Manager will focus on operational workflows, platform tooling, and governance to ensure the broader social team has the resources required to achieve tactical business targets.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York, NY) In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week

About The Positions Contributions:

25% | Operational Workflows, Process Management, and Infrastructure Tooling

Works on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Assesses, implements, and maintains operational infrastructure and tooling (such as scheduling, publishing, and analytics platforms). Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining optimal operational results.

20% | Operational Leadership & Resource Planning

This role acts as a functional leader who may informally mentor one or more junior colleagues. Accountable through the team for the delivery of tactical business targets. Oversees resource planning and operational scalability for high-volume social output, working independently and determining best methods on new assignments.

20% | Governance, Standards, Documentation, Legal & Compliance

Directs the application of existing principles and guides the development of new policies and ideas. Ensures all social channels adhere to legal, compliance, and policy guidelines. Creates and maintains robust documentation for operational standards, playbooks, and best practices.

20% | Vendor, Platform, and Agency Relationships

Networks with key contacts outside their own area of expertise. Manages day-to-day operations and deliverables with vendors, agency partners, and platform representatives, adapting style and using persuasion when delivering messages that relate to the wider firm business.

15% | Cross-Functional Collaboration

Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines and collaborates effectively with internal stakeholders. Frequently advises others on complex matters to streamline requests and manage project-based decision-making.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred/required in Marketing, Communications, Operations, Business, and/or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in social media operations, digital operations, or project management.

  • Wide-ranging functional subject matter experience in operations, with a proven ability to advance functional projects without requiring direct reports.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, tooling, and infrastructure (e.g., publishing tools, DAMs, analytics dashboards).

  • Ability to define workflows, build process documentation, and drive operational scalability.

  • Familiarity with social media governance, legal compliance, and vendor management.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to adapt style to differing audiences and advise stakeholders on complex operational matters

% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
