Why this role?

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Social Media Strategist to join our growing team and help shape the next chapter of Cohere's social media presence. As one of our first Social Media Strategists, you'll have the opportunity to reimagine and elevate how we connect with our global community. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, data analysis, and a deep understanding of the social media landscape. If you're excited to lead, innovate, and make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply!

As our Social Media Strategist, you will:

  • Develop a platform-level vision: Define the overarching social media strategy for Cohere, encompassing all channels and aligning with our brand identity and business goals.
  • Lead strategic initiatives: Spearhead high-profile social media activations and campaigns, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life.
  • Content strategy and creation: Collaborate with the broader marketing team to develop and implement a content strategy that resonates with our diverse audience, including both evergreen and tentpole moments.
  • Community building and engagement: Nurture and grow Cohere's social media communities, fostering meaningful interactions and increasing brand loyalty.
  • Data analysis and insights: Utilize social media analytics to extract actionable insights, track performance, and inform strategic decision-making across teams.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of social media efforts.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Continuously research social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to ensure Cohere remains at the forefront of social innovation.

This career opportunity may be a good match for you if you have:

  • Social Media Expert: 7+ years of experience in digital/social marketing, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop a clear vision and roadmap for social media, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Creative Visionary: A passion for developing innovative and engaging social media campaigns that capture attention and drive results. Your ideas and strategies will shape the online presence and engagement of the brand. If you have a passion for creating unique and captivating content, this role will allow you to express your creativity daily.
  • Data-Driven Expertise: Have a data-driven approach to making informed, strategic decisions—the ability to use social media analysis tools to capture data and create clear reports.
  • Community Builder: Experience in cultivating and growing online communities, fostering engagement, and building brand advocacy.
  • Collaborative Leader: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for Design: A genuine interest in design and the ability to apply brand guidelines to social media, effectively sharing Cohere’s brand with audiences.

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you consider yourself a thoughtful worker, a lifelong learner, and a kind and playful team member, Cohere is the place for you.
