Job Summary & Responsibilities
  • Channel Ownership: Manage Hemmings’ social media channels across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit and YouTube, including day-to-day publishing, scheduling, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Content Strategy & Planning: Own the social content calendar and develop a consistent publishing cadence designed to grow reach, engagement, followers, video consumption, and traffic.
  • Content Creation: Write compelling, platform-specific social copy and create social-first content supporting Hemmings Auctions, Marketplace listings, Hemmings Motor Club, editorial, video, podcasts, events, promotions, partnerships, and sweepstakes.
  • Community Management: Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and community conversations; engage with followers in the Hemmings brand voice and escalate customer service or sensitive issues when appropriate.
  • Social-First Video: Work closely with the Video team to develop and distribute short-form content across Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts while identifying opportunities to repurpose Hemmings’ existing video library.
  • YouTube Management: Support YouTube publishing and channel growth, including titles, descriptions, thumbnails, Shorts, community posts, and promotion of long-form Hemmings video and podcast content.
  • Marketplace & Campaign Support: Execute social campaigns supporting priority auctions and vehicle listings, product launches, membership initiatives, editorial features, events, partnerships, and other major Hemmings marketing initiatives.
  • Trend Identification: Stay current on automotive conversations, social trends, emerging content formats, platform changes, and cultural moments, identifying relevant opportunities for Hemmings to participate and engage.
  • Creative Development: Create simple social graphics and adapt existing creative using approved design tools while coordinating with internal designers, photographers, and video editors on larger creative needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Editorial, Marketplace, Video, Membership, Events, and Partnerships teams to source content and coordinate integrated campaign schedules.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Track performance across reach, engagement, follower growth, video performance, referral traffic, and conversions where applicable, using insights to continuously improve content and channel strategy.
  • Reporting: Prepare weekly performance summaries and monthly social media reports highlighting results, trends, learnings, and actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, content marketing, or community management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social channels for a brand, publisher, media company, marketplace, or enthusiast-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, and X, including platform-specific formats, algorithms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt voice and content for different platforms.
  • Strong understanding of short-form video and the content formats that drive engagement across Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Experience creating basic social graphics and content using Canva, Figma, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
  • Experience with social scheduling, publishing, analytics, and reporting platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate performance data into actionable content recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work quickly and identify timely content opportunities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong judgment and professionalism when representing a brand publicly and managing community conversations.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for classic, collector, enthusiast, and performance vehicles strongly preferred.
  • Experience within automotive, enthusiast media, publishing, ecommerce, or a digital marketplace is a plus.
