As our next Social Media Content Creator, you’ll help bring the Checkatrade brand to life on social. You are someone who lives and breathes social. You’re always spotting trends, thinking in formats, and noticing the kind of content that makes people stop scrolling.

At Checkatrade, we help people get home jobs done right. Your job is to bring that to life on social every day. You’ll turn ideas, shoots and real-life moments into content that feels native to the platform and gets people watching, sharing and talking.

You’ll be confident behind the camera and in front of it — comfortable presenting, interviewing trades or homeowners, and bringing energy and personality to our content. Working closely with the social team and videographer, you’ll help us create a steady flow of social-first videos that show what Checkatrade is all about.

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Create social-first content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Filming, appearing in content, and editing short-form videos that feel native to the platform.

  • Regularly be the face of content. Confidently presenting, interviewing trades or homeowners, and bringing personality and energy to camera.

  • Edit short-form videos quickly and effectively. Turning raw footage into engaging, scroll-stopping content with strong hooks, pacing and caption and formatting optimised for each platform.

  • Capture reactive and ad-hoc content. Spot moments during shoots or day-to-day activity that could become great social posts.

  • Work closely with the videographer and social team on shoots, helping shape content ideas and bringing them to life.

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • A strong understanding of short-form video. You know what makes people stop scrolling and how to structure content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

  • Confidence on camera. Comfortable presenting, interviewing or appearing in content in a natural, engaging way.

  • Editing skills. Fast and capable using tools like CapCut, Premiere or similar to create sharp, platform-native edits.

  • Creative instinct. You’re always noticing ideas, formats or trends that could become great content.

  • Social platform awareness. You spend time on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook and understand how different formats perform.

  • Energy and initiative. Happy getting stuck into shoots, filming extra content, and experimenting with new ideas.

  • Collaborative mindset. Easy to work with and comfortable taking direction while also bringing your own ideas.
