Position Purpose

The Social Media and Video Content Officer will strengthen KKCO East Africa’s digital presence by creating, editing and publishing professional, engaging and commercially relevant content across the firm’s social media platforms.

The role will have a strong emphasis on video production and editing. The position holder will transform KKCO’s technical knowledge, client activities, training programmes and professional insights into clear, attractive and engaging digital content that builds visibility, credibility, audience engagement and business opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Video Production and Editing

  • Plan, record, edit and publish high-quality short-form and long-form video content.
  • Produce videos for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
  • Edit interviews, webinars, training highlights, client testimonials, event footage and thought-leadership videos.
  • Create short-form videos, reels, promotional clips, explainers and social media advertisements.
  • Add captions, subtitles, transitions, graphics, music, voiceovers and branded elements to video content.
  • Convert long-form webinars, interviews and presentations into short, engaging social media clips.
  • Improve sound quality, lighting, framing and overall presentation of recorded content.
  • Maintain organised video files, raw footage, templates and final approved versions.
  • Ensure all video content is consistent with KKCO’s brand standards and professional image.

2. Social Media Management

  • Develop and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with the firm’s business-development priorities.
  • Create, schedule and publish content across KKCO’s approved social media platforms.
  • Write professional captions, headlines, calls to action and campaign messages.
  • Monitor comments, enquiries, mentions and audience engagement.
  • Respond or escalate online enquiries through the appropriate internal channels.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  • Adapt content to suit the format, audience and tone of each platform.
  • Support the growth of KKCO’s followers, reach, engagement and qualified business enquiries.

 

3. Content Creation and Design

  • Design professional social media posts, carousels, banners, event announcements and digital advertisements.
  • Translate technical tax, audit, finance, governance and advisory content into simple and engaging messages.
  • Work with technical teams to develop thought-leadership content, professional insights and educational campaigns.
  • Create promotional materials for training programmes, webinars, workshops and other KKCO events.
  • Develop reusable templates that maintain visual consistency across the firm’s communication.
  • Source or create appropriate photographs, graphics, illustrations and other visual elements.
  • Ensure content is accurate, professional and approved before publication.

4. Campaign and Event Support

  • Support the promotion of KKCO training programmes, webinars, events and service offerings.
  • Capture quality photographs and videos during events, staff activities and client-facing programmes.
  • Produce pre-event, live-event and post-event content.
  • Develop participant testimonials, speaker highlights and event recap videos.
  • Support email and social media campaigns intended to generate registrations, leads and enquiries.
  • Coordinate content requirements with speakers, facilitators, partners and internal teams.

5. Digital Marketing and Lead Generation

  • Develop social media content that supports KKCO’s business-development and client-conversion objectives.
  • Create clear calls to action that direct audiences to registration pages, service enquiries and consultation opportunities.
  • Support paid social media campaigns where approved.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements.
  • Track enquiries and leads generated through digital platforms.
  • Work with the business-development team to connect content activity with pipeline opportunities.

6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track social media reach, impressions, engagement, audience growth, video views and conversions.
  • Prepare monthly social media and campaign-performance reports.
  • Identify the content formats, topics and platforms generating the strongest results.
  • Recommend changes based on platform analytics and audience behaviour.
  • Maintain an organised record of published content and campaign results.
  • Monitor relevant digital trends and competitor activity.

7. Brand Management

  • Apply KKCO’s brand identity consistently across all digital content.
  • Ensure that published content reflects the firm’s professional standards and values.
  • Protect client confidentiality and obtain the required approval before publishing client-related material.
  • Maintain appropriate image, music, video and content usage rights.
  • Review content for spelling, grammar, visual quality and factual accuracy before publication.
  • Support the continued development of KKCO’s digital brand guidelines.

8. Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with partners, managers, technical teams and the business-development function.
  • Attend planning meetings to understand upcoming campaigns, events and technical topics.
  • Guide staff and speakers on basic video recording, presentation and content requirements.
  • Follow up with content owners to ensure information is received within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain a content-production tracker showing assignments, owners, approval status and publication dates.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Communications, Digital Marketing, Media Studies, Film Production, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in social media management, video editing or digital content production.
  • Demonstrable professional video-editing skills using applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or equivalent software.
  • Experience managing organisational or commercial social media accounts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A portfolio demonstrating previous video, social media and digital-content work.
