Job Summary and Description:
The TD MDE Shift Lead Engineer is responsible for coordinating and communicating the area priorities for all process development & operations for assigned areas, ensuring robust shift-level operations that support TD work. This role acts as the critical bridge between real-time shift execution and TD strategic objectives, translating priorities into actionable plans that ensure process stability, yield protection and operational excellence. The Shift lead supervises both Engineers and Technicians as well as coordinate directly with TD 1st Shift team members, HVM Shift Ops Team and multi-functional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality execution aligned to TD work responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities :
Safety & Quality:
  • Finishes the required safety training and adheres to safety and regulatory policies
  • Proactively identifies and resolves safety and quality issues with collaborators
  • Drives reduction of injuries, hazards, and environmental incidents

Shift Operations
  • Serves as 2nd line of defense for shift critical area issues (lot hold, disposition, excursions, line-downs, tool downs) interfacing HVM Ops team and TD 1st shift Process Development teams.
  • Partners with TD 1st Shift, HVM Ops, and multi-functional teams to set priorities, resolve issues, and meet goals.
  • Ensures robust reaction plans, and timely updates for shift teams
  • Develops and delivers plans to resolve on shift process/tool issues, improve output, and mitigate quality risks
  • Collaborate with PDE, EDE, and suppliers to maintain process/tool performance, availability, and area improvements

Process Development Support
  • Leads shift team to provide process development support including but not limited to: FA/VPD Submission, Wafer Shipments, SWR execution & data collection, critical lots health check and redundancy execution etc.
  • Ability to give guidance to TMs on complex tasks, issues and deliver to engineering development intent.
  • Uses data-driven analysis to drive yield and quality solving on duty and key decisions making.
  • Provides technical expertise and solving complex process and equipment issues, driving root cause resolution/containment and deliver to engineering development intent.
  • Ensures capacity, product mix, and improvement plans are in place to meet business needs
  • Supports business processes and ensures control of chronic tool/process issues (SPC, alarms, inventory)

People Leadership and Team Development
  • Drives continuous improvement in shift team performance
  • Partners with leadership to align area goals and establish clear line-of-sight objectives
  • Manages projects to meet scope, schedule, and deliverables; tracks actions and call outs as needed
  • Leads team execution, prioritization, and effective meetings with clear follow-up actions
  • Provides performance management, coaching, training and development planning for direct reports
  • Manages workload and well-being of direct reports and help TM clear obstacles
  • Ensures accountability, clear expectations, and timely task completion across the team
  • Communicates with 1st shift MDE, PD and MDE director on priorities, deliverables and required expectations.
  • Partners with 1st shift MDE team to build training plans, improve efficiency and work on strategic projects.

Requirements :
  • Masters / Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical / Materials Engineering & 5 years of wafer fabrication industry experience
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and SPC/process control, yield/defect mechanism and process flow interaction knowledge
  • Proficient in relevant Micron systems/tools (e.g., SPC, GerM, MES Central, SWR etc) and passion for automation/AI Agent adoption.
  • Working knowledge of yield, defect mechanisms, process interactions, and GeRM risks
  • Ability to lead shift teams in fast-paced environments and deliver area/department goals
  • Flexible to work permanent 12 hours day shift and night shift based on business need
  • Demonstrates Micron leadership behaviors and values
