Fresh Clinics empowers nurses and doctors to run thriving, compliant, and modern healthcare practices through our native iOS App, medical oversight, and human support behind them.
We're Australian founded, and in 7 years grown to 170+ Freshie's and support +2000 clinicians across Australia, and now scaling fast in the USA; all whilst staying true to what matters most: building safe, sustainable hybrid healthcare.
We're proud finalists in Deloitte’s Tech Fast 50 three years in a row and our culture is as bold as our mission: We work smart, hustle hard, stay humble, and lead with kindness.
If you’re looking for a workplace that celebrates our people, drives real-world impact, and champions innovation - welcome home.
At Fresh Clinics, our Senior Financial Accountant is the technical backbone of a finance function that's right in the middle of a real transformation. You aren't just here to keep the books tidy, you are the person who makes our numbers stand up to scrutiny.
We've already done a lot of the hard yards. We moved from cash to accrual accounting, implemented Sage Intacct, and automated AP at scale across 6,000+ invoices a month.
Beyond our financial audits, you'll own our statutory reporting, technical accounting framework, tax and payroll compliance across Australia and the US, reporting directly to our Financial Controller. This is a contract-to-permanent role for someone who enjoys building something, not just maintaining it.
What you'll doThe Audit Closer
- Own the backlog: Two outstanding statutory audits, you take charge of PBC preparation, and help manage the auditor relationship, to close them out within 90 days.
- Stay audit-ready: Build the workpapers, reconciliations for all accounts, and documentation that mean year-end is never a scramble.
- Be the point: You are the primary contact for external auditors. They ask and you work with the team to find the answer fast.
The Statutory Reporter
- Own the financials: Prepare statutory financial statements across our Australian and US entities in line with AASB and IFRS.
- Multi-entity mastery: Maintain consolidation workpapers and intercompany eliminations across our entity structure. Support M&A transactions including post-deal reporting considerations
- Year-end owner: Ensure the annual close delivers financials the board and investors can rely on — clean, documented, and defensible.
The Technical Owner
- GL integrity: Own the general ledger accuracy and the technical accounting framework across entities including being up to date with technical matters, prepare technical/accounting memos to support accounting treatment and necessary adjustments which need to be made so that the statutory financials and GL are aligned.
- The go-to expert: When the team hits a technical accounting question, you're the person with the answer and the confidence to stand behind it.
The Compliance Anchor
- AU and US tax: Own income tax returns, GST, FBT, payroll tax, and PAYG - you know the obligations and make sure we meet them. We currently work with a mid-Tier services firm to support tax compliance.
- R&D incentive: Manage the R&D tax incentive claims and the documentation that supports them.
- Policy builder: Design and monitor the internal controls and accounting policies that protect the business as it grows.
The Payroll Guardian
- Compliance oversight: Review payroll reconciliations and ensure all statutory obligations are met across AU and US.
- Finance sign-off: You own the technical oversight of payroll compliance — not the processing, but the accountability.
- CA or CPA qualification is a firm requirement.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful external audit exposure — you've sat across the table from auditors and know how to manage that relationship.
- Statutory financial statements are your domain — you've prepared them, defended them, and know the accounting standards behind every line.
- AU tax expertise across income tax, GST, FBT, and payroll tax; US experience is highly desired.
- Multi-entity or consolidation experience — you're comfortable with intercompany eliminations and don't need to look them up. Exposure to US GAAP is highly desired.
- A builder's mindset: you're walking into a finance function mid-transformation, and you help create structure rather than wait for it.
- Clear, confident communication: you can translate a complex accounting position into plain language for the CFO and hold your ground under auditor scrutiny.
- We're disrupting how hybrid healthcare is delivered
- We're remote-friendly and outcomes focused
- We're growing fast in Australia and the US — and building the finance function to match
