Position Purpose:

Responsible for the successful marketing (sales, renewals, and/or service) of group and/or individual health insurance products to agents, brokers and small business as defined by production quotas within assigned territory. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales.

Logistics:

This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm working and traveling within Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the surrounding area.

What You Will Do:

• Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
• Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
• Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-year sales and marketing.
• Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
• Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills.
• Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills.
• Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
• Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
• Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.

• Required License and Certificate: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.

What we Prefer you to have:

• A minimum of 3 years of health insurance sales experience or a minimum of 5 years of health insurance account management.
• Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of group and individual health insurance. Currently licensed to sell health insurance in the state of South Carolina.
• Software and Tools: Working knowledge of Salesforce Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.

• Work Environment: Typical office environment. May involve frequent travel between buildings. May involve some/frequent out of town travel. Work may involve transportation of materials and periods of remaining in a stationary position.
