As a Small Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for working closely with assigned agents and wholesalers to profitably grow a book of small commercial business.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Building and Maintaining Relationships: Develop strong, collaborative relationships with agents and wholesalers to understand their needs and support their efforts in growing their business.
Sales and Marketing: Implement effective sales and marketing strategies to promote our Workers’ Compensation and BOP policies through various digital channels.
Underwriting and Risk Assessment: Evaluate and underwrite small commercial accounts to ensure profitable growth while adhering to company guidelines and standards.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of the book of business, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Customer Support: Provide exceptional support to agents and wholesalers, addressing any inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
Communication- Make impactful decisions with little oversight
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Experience underwriting small business accounts is strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study: Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.
Experience: 6 months of underwriting experience.
Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty
