About the RoleThis SkillBridge internship offers hands-on experience as a Field Service Representative (FSR). FSRs provide direct technical support to the company's customers, monitoring equipment readiness, delivering diagnostics and repairs, and conducting product trainings that keep systems mission-ready in the field. SkillBridge FSR interns will work alongside experienced field service personnel to build hands-on technical, communication, and customer-relationship skills that support a successful transition into a technical field role.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer Product Support- Support monitoring of customer product readiness, helping identify and resolve issues customers cannot independently address.
- Work alongside field service personnel to diagnose and repair equipment-related issues on-site, minimizing downtime and supporting optimal performance.
- Serve as an additional point of contact to help customers keep systems operational.
- Assist customers with diagnostic and repair support via phone, email, or direct on-site interaction.
- Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to help diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Support installations, maintenance checks, proactive services, and repairs to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Help execute training plans that educate customers and internal personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Support the assessment and documentation of customer understanding and proficiency following training sessions.
- Contribute to refining and enhancing training materials based on customer feedback and operational insights.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, including issue diagnostics, resolution processes, asset usage, and customer interactions.
- Assist in generating Field Reports and Work Orders that provide actionable feedback to quality and engineering teams.
- Help communicate service bulletins, informational notices, and product updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build professional relationships with customers through consistent, proactive communication.
- Provide technical guidance that helps customers manage and maintain their equipment more effectively.
- Contribute ideas and support for improving the overall customer experience.
- Travel to customer sites, domestically and internationally, to support on-site service delivery alongside field service personnel.
- Maintain readiness and compliance with all safety standards during travel and field service activities.
- Must be eligible for a SkillBridge program opportunity (skillbridge.osd.mil).
- Hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting mechanical and/or electronic equipment (e.g., through military technical, maintenance, or systems roles).
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong documentation habits and attention to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to building professional relationships with customers and teammates.
- Ability to travel up to 75%, including internationally.
