Ski Patrol monitors the mountain, promoting a safe environment for guests and employees. Ski patrol provides first aid, rescue, and transport to those in need.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond to medical emergencies on the mountain.
- Transport injured guests off of the mountain.
- Administer first aid and, in some cases, extended patient care.
- Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the Resort ski area.
- Maintain Resort ski area signs, ropes, and padding.
- Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures.
- Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely.
- Perform sweeps at the end of the day to ensure that all guests and employees are safely off the mountain.
- Special duties may include performing chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche mitigation.
- Perform other Mountain Operations duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current CPR and OEC preferred.
- Must demonstrate advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to safely navigate any area of the mountain in all weather and snow conditions
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Must work well with a team and collaborate with others regularly.
- Must be committed to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Must have a working knowledge of all emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Must exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50+ lbs.
- Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including blizzard, extreme cold, and/or wind.
- Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to safely walk in ski/snowboard boots in icy conditions.
- Must be willing to adapt and problem solve in a dynamic work environment.
