Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an expert Site Supervisor for our Nevada, Iowa facility, which produces liquid CO₂.
The Site Supervisor position will support all aspects of day-to-day plant and terminal operations. This includes customer and business interface activities, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, and employee training and development.
This role will require the successful candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site’s operation, distribution, and maintenance activities, with specific areas of focus on leadership skills as a front-line supervisor. Effective communication skills and strong organizational skills are critical.

Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of day-to-day plant and driver operations, including DOT compliance, driver safety programs, fleet maintenance coordination, plant troubleshooting, supervision of daily activities, and management of plant projects.
- Identify and develop talent while promoting teamwork.
- Demonstrate effective management of workload, and respectful communication with the support teams.
- Ability to understand the larger picture and consider the implications of decisions.
- Provide vacation relief for process operators and assuring plant coverage when issues arise.
- Management of the site’s Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company’s efforts to drive to a goal of zero safety incidents.
- Ensuring environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
- Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
- Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
- Interfacing with the source ethanol plant, customers, and the Air Products commercial team.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred but is not required.
- Military experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- 5+ years of relevant operations and maintenance experience in an industrial plant is required.
- A self-starter with proven leadership skills and the ability to develop talent.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong administrative and digital literacy.
- Position will require on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage every other week
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
