Who we are:

Glydways is reimagining what public transit can be. We believe that mobility is the gateway to opportunity—connecting people to housing, education, employment, commerce, and care. By making transportation more accessible, affordable, and sustainable, we empower communities to thrive and unlock economic and social prosperity.

Our mission is to revolutionize transit with a solution that delivers high capacity, exceptional user experiences, unmatched affordability, and minimal environmental impact.

The Glydways system is a groundbreaking network of carbon-neutral, interconnected transit pathways powered by standardized autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways. Operating 24/7 with on-demand access, it offers personalized and efficient mobility—without the burden of heavy upfront infrastructure costs or ongoing taxpayer subsidies.

With Glydways, we’re building more than a transportation system; we’re creating a future where everyone, everywhere, has the freedom to move.

About the Project:

The Glydways Atlanta ATN Pilot Project is the first passenger carrying Automated Transit Network deployed by Glydways in the United States, running from the Airport SkyTrain at the Georgia International Convention Center to the Gateway Center Arena. It spans construction, system integration and testing, commissioning, and pilot passenger service alongside project sponsors, contractors, the operating organization, local authorities, and emergency responders.

Glydways has established an independent Safety, Quality and Compliance organization, applying established transit and rail safety standards to a new class of automated technology. On the Atlanta site, the safety function owns the site safety management system, confirms that required controls are implemented before work and service proceed, and works in close partnership with Test and Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, contractors, local authorities, and emergency responders to sustain them.

About the Role:

The Site Safety Manager leads the site safety management system for the Glydways Atlanta ATN Pilot Project across construction, integration and testing, commissioning, operations with passenger service, maintenance, modification, recovery, and emergency response.

The role reports directly to the Atlanta ATN Pilot Project Director for site delivery and coordination, and functionally to the Glydways Safety Lead within Safety, Quality and Compliance for safety direction, competence, and assurance. Independent of operations, the Site Safety Manager performs site safety audits, restricts access or return to service, stops work or service, and escalates imminent hazards, safety envelope breaches, or incomplete controls.

The Site Safety Manager is accountable for occupational safety of everyone at the site, including Glydways personnel, the operating organization, contractors, and visitors, and for the hazards introduced by testing, commissioning, and operation of an automated transit system. This covers OSHA recordkeeping and reporting, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, PPE, work permits, access control, and the controls required wherever construction, testing, and passenger service take place at the same time.

The Site Safety Manager understands Operational Limitations and Safety Related Application Conditions (SRACs) established in the Safety Case and owns their site implementation, communication, verification, and enforcement. The Site Safety Manager creates, maintains, and updates the ATL Site Hazard Log, and verifies that every hazard control is implemented and effective through regular inspections, independent audits, and follow up. Working with Quality, the manager establishes and enforces ATL site safety SOPs. With onsite maintenance staff, the manager reviews system faults and work orders and coordinates failure reports through the Glydways FRACAS process.

The Site Safety Manager owns incident notification, investigation, and corrective actions, reports safety performance to the project and to Safety, Quality and Compliance, leads emergency preparedness and responder coordination, and provides the safety inputs to operational readiness.

What We Do

Glydways, Inc. is an American transportation technology and clean energy company based in South San Francisco, CA. The company specializes in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of affordable autonomous transportation for low, medium and extremely high capacity needs. Founded in 2016 by engineer and entrepreneur Mark Seeger, the company was started with the goal of providing affordable mobility for communities across the world. This goal is founded in the belief that access to affordable housing, employment, education and care lead to economic and social prosperity, and the key to this equity is mobility for as many people as possible. Lead by Gokul Hemmady who serves as CEO, the company’s core objectives are to provide a 24/7 mobility service solution that is environmentally net-negative in terms of greenhouse gas production (GHG), and, inherently profitable. GHG-negative is achieved through the invention and use of power-efficient technologies to reduce the watt-hours-per-person-per-unit-distance traveled, and, photovoltaics embedded into the infrastructure. Economic sustainability is achieved by designing for operational costs that are inherently lower than revenue collected when selling a ride. The key comes from decoupling the unit-costs from the utilization of the system, something that is not possible with existing public/mass transportation systems. By being financially sustainable, Glydways relieves municipalities of the vast annual subsidies required to operate existing solutions, which are inherently unprofitable and thereby a fiscal burden to public budgets. Further, the Glydways business model allows for private capitalization of entire systems. Glydways provides the highest capacity, at the lowest cost, with the best user experience, and the lowest greenhouse gas footprint of any mobility solution, providing a personal, on-demand, and point-to-point journey with no stops between origin and destination
