About the Role
As a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the reliability and operational excellence of our engineering organization. You will lead a team of SREs responsible for setting and enforcing standards, providing guidance, and driving a culture of service ownership across all engineering teams. You will also partner with leaders at all levels across the organization to operationalize accountable reliability practices.
Responsibilities
- Define and Implement SRE Strategy: Develop and implement a long-term SRE strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership: Partner with executive leadership to communicate SRE initiatives, advocate for optimal ROI, and drive organizational change.
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering and product leaders to identify and address reliability challenges and ensure that SRE practices are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Foster a Culture of Service Ownership: Champion a culture of reliability and operational excellence throughout the organization. Where engineering teams take full ownership of their services, from development to operations.
- Build, Lead and Mentor SRE Team: Oversee a team of SREs, providing leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
- Drive Innovation: Stay up to date on emerging technologies and trends in the SRE field and identify opportunities to leverage these innovations to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Build and Develop Reliability Tools: Create and maintain internal tools and libraries that empower engineering teams to streamline SRE tasks and improve reliability. This includes working with engineering teams to identify their specific needs and building solutions that meet those requirements.
Qualifications
- Due to FedRamp requirements, must be a US citizen residing in the US
- Proven experience as an SRE Manager or similar role at a senior level
- Deep understanding of SRE principles, practices, and tools
- Strong technical experience
- Cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Programing languages (Java, Python, Go, C#, Ruby)
- Infrastructure as code
- Observability Tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, and OpenSearch
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
- Passion for building reliable and scalable systems
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint's differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$139,650 - $199,500 - $259,350
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee's home location.
