Position Summary

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of Midcon Cables Company’s operation within the Bennettsville correctional facility. This position oversees Midcon civilian employees and the inmate workforce assigned to manufacturing operations while ensuring safety, security, quality, production, and delivery expectations are met.

The Site Operations Manager serves as Midcon’s primary leader at the location and works closely with Midcon leadership, support departments, and correctional facility personnel to keep the operation running safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily operations at the Bennettsville location.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Midcon civilian employees assigned to the site.
  • Oversee the inmate workforce participating in Midcon manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate staffing, work assignments, production schedules, and priorities.
  • Ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Monitor productivity, labor utilization, quality, scrap, rework, and other key performance measures.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting production, quality, workflow, or delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Midcon policies and correctional facility security requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate control and accountability of tools, equipment, materials, and products within the facility.
  • Work closely with correctional facility personnel regarding security, workforce, access, and operational needs.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Human Resources, and other departments as needed.
  • Coach and develop employees and address performance or conduct concerns appropriately.
  • Promote a positive, professional, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Communicate site performance, staffing needs, and operational concerns to leadership.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications
  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or a similar environment.
  • Experience supervising employees and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with employees, leadership, and correctional facility personnel.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries within a correctional environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and manufacturing/ERP systems.
  • Must meet all security, background, training, and access requirements of the correctional facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience.
  • Experience in wire harness, cable assembly, aerospace, defense, electronics, or contract manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a correctional or other security-controlled environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Skills Required
