About the Role:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the project/s which will include the planning and execution of the works. The main purpose of this role is to drive performance and productivity along with health and safety compliance.

Location: Sheffield / Bradford, Yorkshire

Hours: 45 hours per week, 07.30am-17:30pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £45,000.00 per annum

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing projects varying in size and value, ensuring they are completed to a high standard & H&S compliant.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Lead and motivate a team to deliver all aspects of planning and operations.
  • Management of the operatives reporting into them including subcontractor and other supply chain partners.
  • Conduct detailed and thorough site visits. (if on more than one site)
  • Maintain accurate records of site resources, materials and plant and providing daily resource sheets.
  • Ensuring all operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment, stores, and skills to perform allocated work.
  • Liaise with customers, clients, sub-contractors, local authorities and other interested third parties regarding past, present, and future works.
  • Perform quality on site assessments checks (x8 Audits per month, minimum 4 onsite audits).
  • To perform weekly fleet and plant checks ensuring fleet, plant and equipment maintenance is carried out and calibrated within the correct timescales.
  • Comply with relevant company HSEQ and welfare policy provisions.
  • Ensure all clients set KPI’s are met or exceeded. – on PM role too
  • To ensure all regulatory data and job specifications are done checked and fed back to a high standard.
  • Ensure all operative training records and ID Cards records are kept up to date – liaising with training department.
  • Manage all day-to-day HR queries ensuring all updates are added to the HR system, and all HR processes and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all timesheets are submitted within the timescales set by payroll. And these are checked and correct at the time of submission. Where necessary telematics checks are carried out to verify timesheet submission.
  • Ensuring all operatives driving company vehicles adhere to company policy, where necessary interventions to be carried out to coach or take disciplinary action against offenders that is relevant to the offence committed.
  • To manage and assess the competencies of all operatives on site through the competency assessment programme.

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

  • Clean Water experience is essential
  • Management Skills - the ability to supervise and lead crews and manage the supply chain
  • Systems- competent in the use of Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook.
  • Health, Safety & Environment- The ability to assess the impact our operations have on Health & Safety matters. Thorough knowledge of H & S policies/procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Operational Understanding- comprehensive experience, understanding and qualifications/accreditations in accordance with the role being undertaken to deliver contractual commitments, operational and safety requirements.
