As an Associate in Country Business Management, you will support the Senior Country Business Manager (SCBM) in driving business growth, governance, and regulatory compliance for J.P. Morgan in Singapore. You will collaborate with senior management and business lines to enhance operational standards and controls, ensuring the firm's franchise continues to thrive in the region.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist SCBM in researching and implementing business opportunities to grow the firm's franchise in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- Support location and regional projects to improve governance and controls.
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting for senior management.
- Partner with business managers and business control managers to understand business strategy, structure, and risk & control related matters.
- Identify and drive improvement opportunities in systems, processes, and workflows.
- Facilitate location governance requirements for New Business Initiative Approval (NBIA) and Change Management to ensure regulatory expectations are met
- Assess impacts of firmwide policy changes on local governance processes.
- Collaborate with functions like GSS and Compliance on outsourcing governance.
- Prepare materials for Location Operating Committee, Location Management Committee and Board meetings.
- Track and resolve control gaps, emphasizing escalation and controls awareness.
- Support regulatory change initiatives, drive regulatory implementations and handle regulatory & audit related matters.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services.
- Experience in control and risk management, finance, audit, compliance, or project management.
- Attention to detail. Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working with senior management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Experience preparing materials for committees and boards.
- Collaborative team player.
- Experience in regulatory change initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in CFO/COO office, project management, or Singapore and Southeast Asia financial markets.
