Summary
Site Manager acts as a focal point for management of maintenance and operation of all training devices and associated equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensures the availability of simulators and training devices as necessary to meet training requirements.
- Prepares reports and maintains records to support site reporting requirements of the contract; is responsible for safety, security, spaces, and all Government furnished equipment and materials used by CAE USA at the site.
- Ensures implementation and adherence to Plans, Processes and Procedures.
- Ensures all work performed is accomplished in accordance with approved instructions, standards, and procedures.
- Ensures that maintenance not covered by the aforementioned data is governed by vendor/commercial data or applicable ATS Plans, Processes and Procedures.
- Apprises government and Site/Program Managers of trainer availability, maintenance actions, etc.
- Responsible for establishing and adhering to adequate safety and security standards.
- Enforces all procedures for security of material and site access.
- Responsible for all supply support and material support package upkeep.
- Supervises and directs the work efforts of assigned maintenance technicians in performing organizational, intermediate, preventive, depot and corrective maintenance; may be required to sign off work accomplished on site ATDs by both qualified and unqualified technicians.
- Ensures assigned training devices are operational in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Determines which components repaired on-site or sent out for vendor repair.
- Responsible for ordering materials, replacement parts, and the spares inventory.
- Assumes accountability of all government and company furnished equipment and materials and performs periodic inventories as specified by the contract.
- Ensures that necessary technical data is available on site and that the data is current.
- Prepares reports and maintains records to support requirements of the contracts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership, counsel, advice, and guidance to maintenance personnel on technical matters including the capabilities and limitations of current technology, facility capability and costing of effort as these items pertain to quality and process improvement. Schedules operation and maintenance shifts and makes personnel assignments.
- Responsible for scheduling personnel, managing labor and material expenditures.
- Performs site administrative functions as approving vacation, timesheets and travel expense reports, etc.
- Attends meetings, manages delivery schedules and coordinates configuration management activities.
- Ensures a safe and secure work environment is established and maintained.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a technical filed and/or a military technical school certification in a simulation field of study
- Minimum eight (8) years of previous work experience with military or commercial flight simulators/devices including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the simulator maintenance and management field.
- Understanding of military protocols and customs is essential.
- Ability to operate effectively within a team environment and work across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers.
- Ability to work independently and direct subordinates.
Language Skills
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
Mathematical Skills
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
Preferred Skills
- Two (2) years as a Simulator Technician III
- Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation skills.
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds over head.
- Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under the device.
- Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Shop floor environment.
- Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.
- Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noises.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work any shift or day of the week as required.
- Domestic and international travel as required.
