Simulation Engineer – Structural Analysis
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Simulation Engineer to join our Mechanical Team in Brazil. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and validating simulation models to analyze the mechanical performance of our solar tracker systems. Your work will ensure the structural integrity, reliability, and efficiency of our products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, testing, and manufacturing, you will provide critical insights that drive innovative designs and optimized solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural analysis, finite element simulation, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Simulation & Analysis: Develop and execute finite element analysis (FEA) models to evaluate the mechanical behavior of components and systems under various loading scenarios, including static, dynamic, and fatigue conditions.
- Design Validation: Perform detailed structural analysis to validate mechanical designs and ensure compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and customer requirements.
- Prototyping Support: Collaborate with the prototyping and testing teams to align simulation predictions with physical test results, ensuring model accuracy and reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Mechanical Testing, and Manufacturing teams to provide simulation insights that guide design improvements and ensure manufacturability.
- Material Evaluation: Assess material properties, including metals and composites, to accurately model and predict performance under varying operational conditions.
- Design Optimization: Use simulation-driven insights to optimize designs for weight, strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Documentation & Reporting: Generate detailed technical reports, including analysis results, validation outcomes, and design recommendations, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance simulation processes, tools, and methodologies, contributing to the overall efficiency of the mechanical team.
- Support Field Applications: Provide structural insights and feedback based on field performance and post-deployment evaluations to refine product designs.
Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in structural simulation, FEA, or related roles.
- Experience in the renewable energy, automotive, or heavy industrial sectors is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar software.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and fatigue analysis.
- Experience in scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent) for automation is a plus.
Language Skills:
Fluency in Portuguese (native) and proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality engineering work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solar Energy Experience: Familiarity with solar trackers, PV systems, or renewable energy technologies is a strong advantage.
- Project Management: Experience in managing analysis projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
