About Onebrief
Onebrief builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination.
Today, many critical planning workflows still rely on fragmented systems, static documents, and disconnected tools that make collaboration and decision-making unnecessarily difficult. Onebrief brings modern software, AI, and real-time collaboration into those environments, helping teams operate with greater clarity, coordination, and adaptability in situations where decisions carry real-world consequences.
We are a distributed team of builders from military, operational, and technology backgrounds who care deeply about improving how important work gets done. Some team members work remotely, while others work directly alongside customers in operational environments around the world.
Founded in 2019, Onebrief is backed by leading investors including General Catalyst, Battery Ventures, Insight Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and Human Capital. Valued at more than $2 billion, we continue to invest in product innovation, AI capabilities, and team growth.
Why This Role ExistsThrough AtomEngine, Onebrief leverages advanced game engine concepts to power AtomEngine—our proprietary cloud-based engine designed to make complex operational environments and military modeling dynamic, interactive, and playable.
We are hiring a Simulation Content Creator to bridge product design and real-world domain data. In this role, you will help create high-fidelity, functional entities and scenarios that allow planners and wargamers to model critical operations with accuracy and depth.
This is a position for a thoughtful builder who thrives on detail, historical or technical research, and system design. You will turn complex real-world platform performance into intuitive, simulation-ready scenarios that directly drive better decision-making for our users.
AtomEngine is Onebrief's proprietary cloud-based simulation and modeling engine that powers large-scale analysis and continuous wargaming. By leveraging advanced game engine concepts, AtomEngine transforms complex operational environments and military modeling into dynamic, interactive, and playable experiences where users test strategy against realistic constraints.
What You’ll DoYou will partner closely with our feature design and product teams to expand and refine the AtomEngine simulation ecosystem. Your core responsibilities include:
Gather and analyze accurate performance data for global military platforms across diverse operational domains
Build, configure, and maintain functional, simulation-ready entities using the AtomEngine editor
Test entities against one another to tune, balance, and verify real-world behavior and interactions
Design and publish challenging gameplay scenarios and wargaming environments that reflect realistic tactical and operational constraints
Collaborate with product design to identify tool bugs, troubleshoot configuration issues, and improve authoring workflows
Maintain clear, accessible documentation for the growing entity catalog and scenario library
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot data and configuration issues
Concise and effective written and spoken communication skills
Deep curiosity for understanding how complex systems, mechanical platforms, or operational dynamics function in detail
Experience using game modding tools, level editors, or proprietary game engines in either a professional or personal project setting
U.S. Citizenship, required due to federal contract requirements
Familiarity with standard game development workflows, including version control and bug tracking systems
Experience researching, synthesizing, or organizing technical reference material and platform performance data
This role will evolve as priorities change, but the outcomes below reflect what success typically looks like in the first six months. A successful Simulation Content Creator will:
Establish a reliable rhythm for authoring, testing, and balancing new entities within the AtomEngine catalog
Build authentic, challenging simulation scenarios that effectively exercise engine capabilities and support user wargaming objectives
Serve as a key feedback loop for the engineering team by identifying editor friction points and logging actionable bug reports
Produce organized documentation that allows internal team members to easily navigate and utilize the expanding entity library
