Job Description

Summary:

The Ship Loose Coordinator organizes and verifies components shipped separately from critical power units, including generators, enclosures, and associated mechanical and electrical assemblies. The role coordinates material receipt, kitting, packaging, documentation, and handoff to Shipping so each project receives the correct materials in usable condition and on schedule. The coordinator works closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Project Management, and Service to prevent shortages and protect shipment commitments.  

Accountabilities:

  •  Review shipping schedules and two-week lookaheads to prioritize ship loose activities and ensure materials are delivered in alignment with project requirements and customer delivery dates.
  • Maintain accurate material readiness status by project, unit, and shipment, tracking shortages, received quantities, packaging progress, responsible owners, and due dates.
  • Coordinate production disassembly and component handoff schedules, proactively identifying and escalating risks that could impact shipping commitments.
  • Coordinate and assist with picking, kitting, counting, and packaging of ship loose materials, including hardware, piping, exhaust components, accessories, and related assemblies.
  • Ensure materials are packaged using approved methods and protective materials to prevent damage, contamination, and weather exposure during transport.
  • Verify package contents and apply accurate labeling, including project identification, package numbers, destinations, contents, and handling requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including packing lists, labels, package counts, dimensions, weights, and Bills of Lading support documentation.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of experience in manufacturing, construction, warehousing, shipping, or material coordination. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), packing lists, and components used in critical power units. (Preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment. (Preferred)

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This role is primarily based in a manufacturing and outdoor job site environment.
  • Mobility: Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, or crouch for 8–10 hours per day.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to handle rigging tools and components.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs. All lifting should follow OSHA standards.
  • Weather Conditions: Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the site safely and communicate effectively.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
