The Role
Position: Sewing Production Manager

United States based corporation seeking a dynamic Sewing Production Manager to join the manufacturing team at its related party manufacturing plant in La Vega, Dominican Republic.

You will plan and monitor all production activities within an assigned area or unit to maximize the use of team resources and meet the established production specifications and schedules, volume, cost and wastage targets, and quality standards.

I - Duties & Responsibilities by Competencies:
  1. PRODUCTION PLANNING:
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
    • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Ensure productivity and efficiency goals are daily achieved.
  2. QUALITY CONTROL
    • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that finished products meet or exceed quality standards.
    • Collaborate with the quality control department to address any issues related to product defects or deviations from specifications.
  3. COST MANAGEMENT
    • Control production costs by optimizing processes, minimizing waste, and improving efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage production budgets
  4. COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
    • Ensure that production activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all employees.
  5. REPORTING
    • Generate regular reports on production performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to management
  6. PROBLEM SOLVING
    • Identify and address production issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
    • Develop and implement solutions to improve overall production efficiency.
    • Utilize data analysis tools to collect and analyze production data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance operational performance.
  7. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and idea generation
  8. COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
    • Foster effective communication between different departments and teams involved in the production process.
II- QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the apparel manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to drive cultural change and foster a continuous improvement mindset
  • English as second language (Preferred
  • )Knowledge of MS Excel
