Job DescriptionThe Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences that enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. This role involves designing, developing, and evaluating instructional materials and programs that align with the Wise’s goals and objectives.
The Instructional Designer will work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure the learning content meets the needs of the target audience and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design:
- Develop instructional materials and courses using a variety of delivery methods including e-learning, instructor-led training, blended learning, and multimedia formats.
- Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (such as ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy) to create effective training programs.
Needs Assessment and Analysis:
- Support learning needs analysis and select the best course formats and concepts for desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
Content Development:
- Design and develop engaging and interactive learning content, including presentations, videos, simulations, quizzes, and other instructional materials.
- Structure existing content into effective training modules and advise on module bundling.
- Ensure content is current, relevant, and aligned with Wise’s goals and standards.
Evaluation and Improvement:
- Implement a rigorous, four-level Kirkpatrick evaluation framework to isolate and measure the specific business value of each learning solution.
- Analyze post-training performance metrics alongside learner and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve existing instructional materials.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple instructional design projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, Knowledge delivery and Operational teams to ensure project success.
Technology Integration:
- Utilize authoring tools & learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to design, develop, deliver and track training programs.
- Leverage AI to accelerate development cycles without compromising instructional soundness.

You bring 2-3 years of instructional design & e-learning development experience in a fast paced environment. You actively design engaging digital learning solutions and leverage technology to drive measurable training impact for operational teams.
You apply strict quality standards. You design and develop accurate, clear, and engaging instructional materials. By utilizing adult learning theories and internal quality evaluation frameworks, you ensure every piece of content meets high standards and achieves SMART learning outcomes.
You take initiative. You manage projects end-to-end, from developing multimedia content to designing interactive e-learning modules using tools like Articulate 360. You continuously seek ways to innovate the learning experience and solve problems creatively within a fast-paced fintech setting.
You deliver consistently. As a key player in the Knowledge Delivery organization, you effectively manage multiple tasks and contribute to cross-functional projects. You navigate shifting priorities and maintain strong alignment with stakeholders across Operational teams.
You focus on measurable impact. You utilize Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) frameworks to diagnose operational challenges, moving systematically through problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution scoping. You define measurable goals, track post-training performance, and prioritize projects using impact versus effort evaluations.
You design for the learner. You prioritize the operational context of our learners, building solutions that directly address their specific knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) gaps. You cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement to ensure all content remains relevant and accessible

Skills Required
- 2-3 years instructional design and e-learning development experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience designing digital learning solutions (e-learning, instructor-led, blended, multimedia)
- Proficiency with Articulate 360 and other e-learning authoring tools
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deliver and track training

We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
