About this opportunity
We are strengthening our infrastructure architecture capability to support Ericsson's ongoing transformation of private, public, and hybrid cloud platforms. We are looking for an experienced Service Architect with deep expertise in enterprise storage, OpenStack, Kubernetes, virtualization, and cloud-native infrastructure to help define, modernize, and evolve our next-generation cloud infrastructure. This role will play a key part in shaping storage strategy, evaluating future technology options, and preparing long-term platform roadmaps.
What you will do
Lead architecture and strategy for enterprise storage platforms supporting OpenStack, Kubernetes, Hyper-V, cloud-native, public cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
Define and maintain the storage technology roadmap across Dell PowerFlex, HPE Primera, HPE Alletra, Dell PowerScale, Ceph, and future enterprise storage solutions.
Evaluate, compare, and recommend next-generation storage solutions, including block, file, software-defined, hyperconverged, NVMe-based, and cloud-integrated storage technologies.
Plan, optimize, and validate storage and server hardware platforms for performance, scalability, resiliency, availability, lifecycle management, and cost efficiency.
Provide architectural leadership across OpenStack, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, virtualization, cloud-native platforms, public cloud, and hybrid cloud integration.
Drive adoption of SDN, Infrastructure as Code, API-driven provisioning, and automation across storage, compute, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and virtualization platforms.
Define reference architectures, architecture standards, design patterns, decision records, and governance controls for infrastructure services.
Support vendor evaluation, RFI/RFP activities, proof-of-concepts, licensing assessments, TCO analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
Collaborate closely with service owners, product managers, operations, and strategy teams.
What you will bring
Extensive experience in enterprise-grade storage architecture and operations, including block, file, software-defined, and scale-out storage platforms.
Strong experience with storage platforms such as Dell PowerFlex, HPE Primera, HPE Alletra, Dell PowerScale, or equivalent enterprise storage technologies.
Deep expertise in storage networking, SAN/NAS architecture, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe/NVMe-oF, replication, snapshots, backup, disaster recovery, capacity management, and performance optimization.
Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack architecture and operations, including compute, storage, networking, availability, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms, including persistent storage integration, CSI drivers, container storage, observability, resiliency, and platform operations.
Experience with Hyper-V, virtualization platforms, and integration with storage, backup, networking, automation, and hybrid cloud services.
Experience with SDN-based networking, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code, API-driven operations, and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitOps, or equivalent.
Proven track record of infrastructure strategy, technology selection, vendor engagement, proof-of-concepts, roadmap development, lifecycle management, and technical debt reduction.
Strong knowledge of security, compliance, operational resilience, architecture governance, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management.
Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS (Preferred), or equivalent, including hybrid cloud connectivity, workload placement, cloud-native storage, and cost optimization, is considered an advantage.
