We are seeking a senior SEO Strategist & Process Architect to bridge high-level search strategy, process engineering, and AI-driven automation. This is not a standard, purely executional SEO role, it is a hybrid role combining SEO Strategy + Process Design + AI Search Integration.
Working directly alongside agency leadership, you will act as a strategic thought partner to analyze existing SEO workflows, eliminate manual friction, and build repeatable, high-efficiency processes. You will blend senior strategic SEO capabilities with modern AI tools and automation frameworks to help the agency deliver faster, smarter, and more impactful organic results for their clients.
Remote: Fully remote (UK working hours)
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (client based in Ireland)
Monthly Rate: $1000-1600 (based on a 40-hour workweek; flexible depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- SEO Process Engineering & Workflow Automation: Audit the agency’s current SEO delivery model and build standardized, super-efficient SOPs and automated workflows, similar to modern Google Ads process frameworks, to drastically scale execution speed and output quality.
- AI SEO Systemization: Integrate advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Surfer SEO, custom prompts, and automation webhooks) to streamline keyword research, content briefs, technical audits, schema generation, and on-page optimizations.
- Senior Campaign Strategy: Provide high-level strategic direction for local, national, and e-commerce clients across B2B, service, and retail sectors, ensuring campaigns align with business growth rather than vanity metrics.
- Technical & Entity Search Guidance: Guide the technical architecture of client sites across platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix), optimizing for entity-based search, local map packs, and AI discovery engines.
- Performance Reporting & Refinement: Develop streamlined data-reporting frameworks using SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console to track campaign performance, prove ROI, and continuously refine agency processes.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and leading SEO campaigns across service, B2B, retail, or local business niches.
- Proven ability to design, document, and roll out agency-level workflows, templates, and SOPs that turn complex tasks into streamlined, repeatable processes.
- Practical experience leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Surfer SEO, Claude) and automation connectors (Zapier, Make, or custom API scripts) to optimize and scale SEO deliverables.
- Advanced expertise with SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, GA4, alongside practical optimization experience across WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, and Wix.
- Strong communication skills and a consultative mindset—comfortable working with senior leadership to shape department strategy while remaining self-driven during European business hours.
- Experience modeling SEO workflows after PPC/paid ads automation systems.
- Familiarity with structured data (JSON-LD schema), CRO principles, and entity-based SEO frameworks.
- Experience with UK or Irish SME markets and search dynamics.
