Overview of the role:
PokerStars is looking for a strategic, technically exceptional SEO Manager to lead organic growth across our Southern Europe markets.
This is not a “hands-off coordinator” role, nor is it a narrow execution role. It is a leadership position for someone who can diagnose complex problems, set direction, influence senior stakeholders and turn strategy into sustained growth across multiple countries.
You will own SEO end-to-end for Spain, Portugal and France: technical foundations, content and authority strategy, agency leadership, and commercial impact.
What you’ll do:
1. Technical SEO leadership
Conduct deep, independent technical audits across large, complex websites
Translate findings into clear, prioritised dev tickets with commercial rationale
Partner with product and engineering teams to get change shipped, not just recommended
Continuously improve site health, crawlability, performance, indexation and international setup
2. Strategy & business impact
Develop and present compelling SEO business cases tied to revenue and market growth
Distil complexity into clear, senior-ready narratives that drive decision-making
Align SEO priorities with wider marketing, brand and commercial goals across markets
Balance short-term opportunity with long-term structural advantage
3. Content & authority at scale
Define what “winning” looks like for content and authority building in regulated markets
Determine what needs to be built, why and by whom
Lead internal teams and external partners to execute effectively
Ensure content strategies are search-led, audience-relevant and brand-appropriate
4. Agency leadership & governance
Set clear expectations, KPIs and ways of working
Challenge thinking, raise standards and ensure genuine value delivery
Act as the ultimate owner of output quality and results
5. Market & stakeholder leadership
Own a single, coherent SEO strategy across Spain, Portugal and France
Adapt global principles to local market realities
Influence across marketing, product, tech and senior leadership
Be a confident, credible voice for SEO in a complex organization
6. Innovation & future-proofing
Stay on top of LLMs, AI-driven search, new tooling and industry shifts
Understand how discovery is changing and what that means for strategy
Be fluent in Social SEO and the role of platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Reddit in organic demand creation
Ensure PokerStars remains ahead of the curve, not reacting to it
What you’ll bring:
Strong, hands-on technical SEO expertise; you can diagnose and explain issues yourself
Experience influencing engineers, product managers and senior stakeholders
A proven ability to turn insight into action
Confidence leading agencies and partners at scale
Clear, structured communication; written and verbal
Strategic thinking combined with a bias to execution
Deep curiosity about how search is evolving in an AI-driven world
A strong understanding of Social SEO and multi-platform discovery
Experience in regulated or highly competitive markets is a plus, but not essential if your fundamentals are exceptional.
