The Opportunity
Incode is seeking a self-starter, dynamic, driven Web Engineer to join our expanding team in Belgrade, Serbia.
As a Web Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that are fast, responsive, and highly interactive. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, backend engineering, and product, to implement features that meet our users’ needs and align with our business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable code for web applications using modern web technologies.
- Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive applications.
- Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Develop and maintain integration with backend services, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the development and production environments.
- Implement best practices for web security, ensuring application integrity and user data protection.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions on improving development processes and standards.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, frameworks, and best practices.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong proficiency in front-end languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React, Angular, or Vue.
- Experience with backend technologies and RESTful APIs is a plus.
- Expertise in using Git for version control not using GUI, including branching strategies and code review processes.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines
- Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization and debugging tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and tools like Jira or Notion.
Nice to have:
Experience with server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Ruby, or Python.
- Experience with A11Y (accessibility) focused websites.
- Knowledge of cloud-based services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Docker, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG).
- Basic undersating of WASM (Web Assembly) is a really big plus
