The Opportunity

The Senior Video & Motion Designer, Marketing is responsible for designing an array of motion projects that employ a variety of styles and techniques for various platforms. They are design generalists who delight in switching gears between character-based illustration, infographic-style design, typography, and much more—often on the same project. The Senior Video & Motion Designer works with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Business Development, People, Product, and more, delivering high-quality creative work that achieves business objectives.

The Senior Video & Motion Designer will work alongside a diverse group of professionals, including designers, marketers, product managers, and engineers, to help shape the future of insurance.

This role reports to the Sr. Creative Director.

Salary Range: $87,000 - $100,000

How You Will Make an Impact 

• Flexible approach to operate proactively in a fast-paced, evolving atmosphere with ambiguous structures.

• Strong project management capabilities, prioritizing projects based on business objectives.

• Extensive understanding of modern production trends and techniques.

• Create visual design to be implemented 2D and 3D animation for a variety of applications: marketing videos, app and web interactions, internal communications, and experiential displays. 

• Develop work that is on-brief and on-brand, raising the creative bar while meeting our partners’ needs.

• Maintain an aesthetic on every project that is consistent with brand visuals and values, while helping push the brand forward.

• Ensure that all work is designed for motion-based applications in visual appeal, story structure, and file layering.

• Design styleframes to pitch concepts to internal stakeholders.

• Build full storyboards with thoughtful transitions and motion ideas that can be handed off to animators.

• Art direction in live-action photo and shoots.

• Work with animators, copywriters, and directors to ensure projects are creatively successful and collaborative.

• Maintain an organized and efficient production process.

What You Will Need to Succeed 

• 5+ years of experience producing/designing as part of an agency or in-house team.

• Comprehensive production and post-production expertise, understanding of process, pipeline, costs, vendors, and more.

• Experience in designing specifically for motion, with knowledge of how to prep design files for animation.

• Exceptional design capabilities: imaginative storytelling, beautiful illustration, thoughtful use of composition.

• Comprehensive design expertise, with technical mastery of design software (we use a combination of Figma, the Adobe Suite, and Cinema 4D, but are open to candidates with mastery in other programs).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with keeping stakeholders aware of project status. 

• Flexible approach to operate proactively in a fast-paced, evolving atmosphere with ambiguous structures.

• Strong time management skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize projects based on business objectives.

• Extensive understanding of modern design and animation trends and techniques.
