BNY is seeking a strategic and growth-oriented Product Manager – Document Custody & eCustody Solutions to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of next-generation custody solutions within Corporate Trust. As part of the Document Custody Product team, this role is responsible for defining and executing the vision, roadmap, and delivery of physical and digital custody products, including eVault capabilities, document lifecycle management, and workflow solutions that enhance client experience, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and business growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong product management discipline, deep knowledge of document custody and servicing workflows, and a commercial mindset to identify market opportunities and scale digital custody solutions. The Product Manager will have a proven track record of building, launching, and commercializing client-facing eVault and digital custody capabilities supporting mortgage, auto loan, and other consumer lending asset classes, translating complex client, business, and regulatory requirements into innovative, scalable products.


Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy, Design & Planning

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Document Custody and eCustody solutions.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans through roadmap development, prioritization, dependency management, and execution governance.
  • Partner with product and operations teams, clients, regulators, and industry participants to identify market needs and modernization opportunities.
  • Lead product discovery and solution design across physical custody, digital custody, eVault, document management, and document digitization capabilities.
  • Align Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders around priorities, investments, and delivery outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor offerings, industry developments, and evolving client expectations.

Product Delivery & Commercialization

  • Drive the design, development, launch, and commercialization of eVault solutions.
  • Drive the evolution of document custody from physical and manual processes to scalable, secure, and efficient electronic custody capabilities.
  • Translate client, operational, and regulatory requirements into scalable products, digital workflows, and modern custody solutions.
  • Build and enhance client-facing eVault solutions supporting mortgage, auto loan, and other consumer lending asset classes.
  • Deliver capabilities across digital intake, document onboarding, certification, tracking, electronic storage, collateral file management, exception processing, retrieval, reporting, auditability, and end-to-end lifecycle management.
  • Ensure product design supports operational resilience, control transparency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions to strengthen eCustody capabilities and accelerate innovation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and Data teams to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Champion Agile delivery practices and manage product backlogs, prioritization, releases, risks, and dependencies.
  • Establish product success metrics and drive adoption, operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and revenue growth.

Stakeholder & Client Leadership

  • Product Leadership in strategic client engagements and custody modernization initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across clients, issuers, servicers, industry associations, operations teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Gather client feedback and industry insights to inform product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and solution design.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, and business outcomes to senior leadership
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights, industry expertise, and thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • Expertise
    • 8-10+ years of experience in Product Management, Financial Technology, Corporate Trust, Document Custody, eCustody, or related domains, with deep expertise in document custody operations, eVault platforms, electronic custody, and document lifecycle management.
    • Bachelor's degree in business management, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 
    • Proven track record of building, launching, commercializing, and scaling client-facing eVault and digital custody solutions, including product strategy, go-to-market execution, client onboarding, adoption, and revenue growth.
    • Demonstrated experience delivering eVault and digital custody platforms for mortgage, auto loan, and other consumer lending asset classes, with strong knowledge of digital collateral ecosystems, eNotes, eVault interoperability, MISMO standards, and related industry frameworks.
    • Success translating strategy into product roadmaps and delivering complex products at scale using Agile methodologies, strong prioritization, and cross-functional leadership.
    • Experience partnering with Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Sales, and Client Management teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions, coupled with strong leadership, communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills.

    Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
