The Retail Mortgage Production Manager has the overall responsibility for managing and overseeing the overall success of the bank’s Retail Mortgage Lending including sales management and growth, pipeline, compliance and profitability oversight. This position manages a team of Mortgage Loan Officers and Mortgage Loan Officers/Team Leads.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide input, objectives, strategies and sales performance goals for the Retail Mortgage channel in order to actively influence and promote increased market penetration, revenue and profitability
- Lead and direct all sales and business development activity of a group of Mortgage Loan Officers ensuring the team meets highly demanding standards of the mortgage industry. Continuously review and evaluate the results of the sales and lending activities with respect to planned goals.
- Actively recruit and hire team members. Responsible for training, development and motivating the Retail Mortgage team members to achieve unit and individual monthly loan volume disbursement goals.
- Partners with other departments to ensure excellent customer service experience for Retail Mortgage customers
- Build successful campaigns to nurture suspects and prospects
- Manage a team of Mortgage Loan Officers including hiring, training and employee development and performance management
- Stay abreast of new government regulations, real estate laws and policy changes within the bank
- Handles escalated retail mortgage customer issues
- Serves as the Loan Officer on all CCB employee loans
- Responsible for submission of the Retail Mortgage budget for approval and the annual performance of Retail Mortgage compared to budget

ENVIRONMENT AND INTERACTION
Work areas are inside, in a climate-controlled environment, with moderate background noise. Position may involve occasional travel to branch locations. Position may involve exposure to potentially hazardous conditions (e.g., robbery).

- Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
PROFICIENCIES
- Extensive knowledge of program guidelines and know where the resources are to answer product questions
- Experience with loan production software(s)
- Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.
- Basic word processing and computer database skills.
- Needs a good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Must possess strong planning and organizational skills and maintain the ability to effectively handle multiple situations, manage priorities and work with only minimal supervision and direction
- Must display a strong desire to achieve and maintain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction, willing to work extended hours when needed
- Perform activities in compliance with banking industry and CCB standards and procedures, audit requirements, reliability, quality and security
- Ability to work efficiently in pressure situations and demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of banking rules, regulations, laws and all policies and procedures pertaining to them including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent customer contact skills and sales skills with the ability to cultivate prospects and handle objections and rejections
- Understands how to present features and benefits of products and services to customers’ needs
- Must be organized and maintain a positive demeanor in all situations
- Budget Forecasting: develops models or projections based on studying past results, relationships and data and anticipating future trends/events for purpose of departmental budgeting
- Budget Formulation: analyzes, compiles and summarizes probable financial income and expenditures within department
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mortgage origination
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a mortgage branch office, a bank mortgage office or an inbound call center environment
- NMLS license required
