Chubb Bermuda Insurance Ltd. invites applicants for the position of Senior Vice President, Claims and Claims Operations. The position will report directly to the Executive Vice President, Claims and Claims Counsel, Chubb Bermuda.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing Excess Property, Political Risk and Aviation insurance and reinsurance claims, including substantive coverage, liability, and damages analysis
Liaising with the Division President, CFO, Chief Actuary, underwriters, brokers, adjusters, clients, ceding companies and other insurers and reinsurers
Retaining, directing, and managing outside counsel
Analyzing and reporting of loss-reserve development, and preparing detailed quarterly reports for senior management
Designing, creating, and implementing a variety of reports performance metrics, and other deliverables for use by senior management
Managing of the identification, reporting and collection of outward reinsurance across all lines of business
Operational oversight of the department including the management of a team of technical and administrative assistants and responsibility for management of company-wide claims operations, including compliance protocols and audits
An Undergraduate Degree
At least 10 years’ experience handling Property, Political Risk and Aviation claims
A minimum of 10 years’ experience handling outward reinsurance
In-depth knowledge of auditing and performing external claims reviews
Excellent organizational skills
Superior analytical, oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.

Impeccable judgment, intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail and the ability to exude confidence and professionalism while interacting with senior executives and sophisticated corporate clients and their brokers.
Good computer skills and the ability to perform internal communications and drafting without administrative assistance.

The ability to meet deadlines and work extended hours and weekends when required
