What You’ll Do At Elekta:
We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher to lead user research and usability testing across Elekta’s hardware and software products. You will be responsible for usability testing, user risk analysis and the associated documentation needed for regulatory submissions. You will make recommendations to improve product UX. This role plays a key part in shaping safe, effective, and intuitive user experiences.
You’ll work closely with Design, Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams, helping bring user insights into product decisions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver user research and usability testing across the product lifecycle
Plan and run studies such as interviews, observational research, usability testing and surveys
Perform task analysis and risk analysis to assess the safety and usability of medical devices (hardware and/or software)
Define and align usability strategy with product and regulatory requirements. Complete the necessary usability documentation for regulatory submissions.
Make recommendations for UX design changes to improve safety and usability
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Clinical and Regulatory. Act as the subject matter expert in usability within product teams.
Communicate insights clearly and advocate for user-centred design
Support and guide more junior team members
Manage external research partners where needed
What You’ll Bring:
Experience in UX research, human factors or usability (typically 4+ years)
Strong hands-on experience across a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to choose the right approach
Good experience with formal, metrics-driven usability testing
Experience working on complex products within a regulated, safety-critical industry. Experience within healthcare and with regulated medical devices (hardware and/or software) is preferred.
Understanding of usability standards and risk management (e.g. IEC 62366, ISO 14971, FDA guidelines)
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Interest in working with complex products and improving complex workflows

Skills Required
- Master's degree in human factors engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, experimental psychology, User-Centred Design, or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in human factors, usability, or UX research
- Experience working in human factors/usability engineering of regulated medical devices
- Proficiency in different UX research methods
- Good understanding of medical device regulations and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
